Chilli sauce reviews

Forage and Feast are top stuff!

Habanero when you want to add heat without altering flavour too much.
Red chilli when you want a bit of chilli goodness.

These are my new go-to sauces.

I still have to try the full range, but the two I tried are awesome.

Tried the habanero hot sauce but man it's just to hot have to mix it with yogurt or mayonnaise first. Keen to try the chili sauce next hopefully it won't be as intense

Clearly made and tested by a pansy then...

I find that way too often, that people call a sauce overly hot or mindblowing and when you try it, its got a relatively mild bite that is quite pleasant. People then look at you sideways like you have some sort of handicap. :p
There is basically no hot sauce in SA I’d call mind blowing hot, those hexburg sauces are over priced, vile tasting and mild at best.

I’ve ordered dragon breath chilli seeds and will try make my own sauce later this year, If they pan out to be as hot as they claim.

Hey guys and girls so I ordered these from:

Ukutshisa - Chilli Co (https://m.facebook.com/pages/category/Food---Beverage/ukutshisa/posts/)

Unfortunately I have finished the two already and forgot to take pics of the ingredients in each bottle ( The one that I do have some left of is at the office)

Peach PK : Tastes almost like tropika juice to me but with a nice kick (It is rated a 5/10 but to me more like a 7/10). The owner informed me that the only chillies he used in this batch was hallows eve ( I now want to grow some). A nice sweet creamy peach sauce with heat mmmm.

Strawberry Reaper : Now this one is interesting because sometimes you can definitely taste the sweetness of the strawberry and boom reaper ...other times just reaper. :p

Reaper Xtreme Edition : It is what it is reaper ! Now I can't explain the taste of reaper lol

The owner even sent me a pic before the labels were put on ( This guy is super passionate and sounded more excited than me lol). Awesome guy.

All in all fantastic sauces with flavour that you will want to put on your food and eat (I have ordered sauces before with chilli extract and its really not ummm enjoyable). I will definitely order and try some of his other sauces soon.:)

I suck at writing reviews not on @PoppieChoffel level I know.

Thanks for sharing!! I'm definitely curious about that strawberry one but I need to diminish our sauce holding before ordering any more bottles

So this is not really a hot sauce, just a sauce with a bit of chilli flavour.

I've been looking everywhere for something like it. It's the same chilli sauce used in wors rolls at hot dog stands etc.

Been braaiing my own wors rolls and burgers at home ever since...

We ordered 3 new variants of the Marie Sharp's habanero sauces that arrived today, and here are our thoughts on them

IMG_20210702_190324_386.jpg
First up, the Garlic Pepper. The garlic aroma hits you as you open the bottle, but oddly for us the garlic flavour actually could have been stronger for our liking, that being its main namesake. The sauce is slightly sweet, which we attribute to the carrots, a good fruity hit of habanero accentuated by a zesty tang of lime, with a gentle but warm heat that let's you know you're still eating something with habanero in it. The garlic was almost lost on us here, but we probably eat too much of it (sic, no such thing! ).

Next up, the Green Habanero. This one intrigued us from the get-go as it has nopal in it, which is a cactus that is eaten as a vegetable in Mexican cuisine once its spines have been removed. You can smell the green the moment you open the bottle (you'll know what we mean when you try it), and the flavour profile is zesty, fresh and has a fantastically thick satisfying texture. Again lime juice compliments and boosts the natural fruitiness of the habanero, as well as the citrus notes of the nopal. This one has a good heat that will leave those less accustomed a bit on the NEED SOME MILK side.

Lastly, the No Wimps Allowed sauce. Although it's not the main ingredient (I must assume they follow the usual way of listing ingredients from the largest volume to the smallest), the immediate note that hits you is that sweet but tangy tomato, and then the burn starts. While it's hot, it's bearable and this one has that pleasant affect of heating your whole body up. Those same fruity citrus notes are hiding underneath the heat and overall the sauce has a pretty impressive flavour profile that manages to meet the heat head on and hold its own. Those who felt like they were on the edge of tolerance with the Green Habanero are advised to buckle in if you're going to try this, and say your last prayers just in case. For those used to the likes of reapers et al, you'll be fine here. Just the right amount of pain to balance your chilli loving pleasure.
