I love it so much I even have Tapatio socks.

We like the green one the best. It's not super hot, but has amazing flavour and goes well with pretty much everything.
Broccoli? Rooibaard.
Chicken? Rooibaard.
Chips? Rooibaard.
Lamb? Rooibaard.
Potato Bake? Rooibaard.

We can easily go through 2 x 750ml bottles a month.

So my sub arrived today.

I can get the espresso in the Revo sauce but it's not a distrinct coffee flavor. The garlic comes across more prominent, so perhaps overpowers the espresso, just enough to alter the flavor. It sought of reminds me of taking a sip of coffee after having eggs on taste with chilli sauce. I would prefer it have less garlic in it.

It's got a nice heat that just tickles the tongue... a good every day chilli sauce. Consistency is similar to tabasco.
Hi,

Thank you for the critic, we much appreciate it.
Due to several similar comments regarding the lack of strength of the espresso we will be changing our formula and increasing the amount of roast coffee beans.

Best Regards,
Revo Sauce Team

@Revo Sauce recommend me something.
I have a high tolerance for heat but flavour is important for me too. I DONT like even a hint of sweet in chilli sauce.
Right now I only use nandos extra hot xx sauce as a chip-dip, eating a burger or kfc chicken etc. Some times I use it as pizza sauce too.
I really want to try something different. What do u recommend?

Nice thread! I am a BIG fan of chilli sauces but they have to at least have flavor. Would love to try out those Hot Ones when my family comes over from the states.
Clarks Chipotle.jpgI was pleasantly surprised by this Chipotle that I found at Woolies - my wife can't stand heat so I decided to go the Chipotle route and needless to say we loved it! Not really great as a marinade on it's own but paired with a bit of lemon juice and some S&P, it does a great job on veggies, chicken and especially fish. Flavor is well balanced with a bit of garlic and lemon most prominent. As Borat would say "Very Nice!"

This stuff is amazing. Had it for the first time in Dec last year.
Now I always have a bottle on hand in the fridge

Yeah I'm not too impressed with this brand after tasting the Espresso one. Zero coffee taste in flavour profile, seems more like a gimmick than an actual flavour.

They have a mint chili that intrigues me though, and mango Habanero, so haven't written them off yet.
If you like chili mint, try this one, it's the SO's favourite:

They have limited retail presence, more often at the respective markets in Gauteng. Here is a link to their online shop: https://www.hannayssauces.com/shop/

I am a big fan of their Chipotle, Harissa, and Chimichurri, amongst others. Their hottest sauces are quite nice as well, but use those sparingly, as the Ghost and Reaper was a limited release.

Yes, I did work for them at one stage, but don't anymore. Still love their products though.

Got this the other day and I have to say its the most god awful sauce I've wasted money on. It tastes like there's some kind of plastic in there, not sure why I get that cling wrap flavor but fair warning don't waste money on this junk.

Had a taste of Blairs Mega Death Sauce which a friend still has. Just had to dip the end of a toothpick in and that was seriously hot. Also one of those, just destroy your mouth with heat.

Thanks for the heads up. Woolies is likely the last place I'd look for good flavour profiles on chilli sauces though myself, but that's a preconception I have that may be incorrect :P

That flying goose one I mentioned earlier in the thread is really good, but its not a Woolies product, they just stock it. So far, IMO the Woolies branded chillie sauces are shyte if you ask me.
