So tell me which SPECIFIC type of client would buy this rather than buying a real laptop with Chrome browser?
no harddrive? this is going to be a tough sell. looks good but pass.
The SPECIFIC type for whom R20k is small-change (style and exclusivity before all else) and who fits the Chromium OS target market profile.
http://www.chromium.org/chromium-os
Chromium OS is an open-source project that aims to build an operating system that provides a fast, simple, and more secure computing experience for people who spend most of their time on the web.
If that is not you then it is not for you. Go get something else.
The SPECIFIC type for whom R20k is small-change (style and exclusivity before all else) and who fits the Chromium OS target market profile. There are much cheaper options for the rest of us who has a need for this kind of device.
Yes, we all know what Chrome OS is.
What you still haven't explained is why you think the Pixel is pushing the boundaries of the future
Hell Yes,give it to me, except for the R20K part. Like it or not the cloud is the future(did they not say the iPad was a fad?) and Chrome OS well established to take advantage of it.
On that note, where are those damned undersea cables and lower(and i mean looooow) bandwidth prices so i can take advantage of my Nexus 4 , Nexus 7(10),Chromebook Pixel and Google Drive 1TB? Oh,and city wide wi-fi hotspot coverage.
Finally...$1 299.00 = FAIL
Rich idiots? No they all have Macbook Pros. The SPECIFIC type for whom R20k is small-change (style and exclusivity before all else) and who fits the Chromium OS target market profile.
Sane people you mean. There are much cheaper options for the rest of us who has a need for this kind of device.
Rich idiots? No they all have Macbook Pros.
Sane people you mean.
I question your assumption that people who value style and exclusivity over all else are idiots.
People just value different attributes differently to what other people might value them
He still hasn't? Maybe we should ask him what current applications are being advanced by Chrome OS.
I'm also still waiting to hear how this is pushing the boundaries of desktop computing.
