Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

Completely got me by surprise. I gave it a miss as its "turn based".... then free on gamepass, why not see what its about. Cant put it down. Last game that had me this hooked was Elden Ring.

The reviewer is barking up the wrong tree, saying a map would be useful. Since it's very obviously a game for girls, there's really no point.

Don't think so.

With only one year left to live, join Gustave, Maelle, and their fellow Expeditioners as they embark upon a desperate quest to break the Paintress’ cycle of death. Follow the trail of previous expeditions and discover their fate. Get to know the members of Expedition 33 as they learn to work together against impossible odds.

Guess it's not impossible odds, thanks for making it clear.

I could look past it if you were commenting on your experience in the boss battle or something, but treating this as your personal blog with with a post that's basically "Oh btw I defeated the Paintress, guess I should go explore now" you've contributed nothing but spoiling the main quest.

All good though. Onto the ignore list.

Its not a quest-based game but it is a story rich game. Don't spoil plot points.

I watched a lot of streamers after finishing it it myself and NONE of them predicted where this game went.

Let people enjoy it for themselves.

Discuss news and gameplay.

Don't think so. Isn't the entire point of the game to defeat her?

edit: would saying I defeated Bowser in a Mario game be considered a spoiler?
I've not played this game, but know about the Paintress, its in the freaking trailer

Im at the final chapter. It always felt like i just wasnt doing the damage i saw on thumbnails, videos etc, but man does exploring the world give you so many tools to upgrade, im really enjoying the process and dont want it to end.

Definately playing it again (on Steam next time) to do plat and expert knowing what i learnt.

I'm on my 2nd playthrough now, not NG+, just another one, and I'm already an absolute monster compared to my 1st one, breaking enemies in 2 hits, constantly applying mark, just a unit.

Man I'm still struggling my ass off to kill you know who. He is just so damn hard to parry all the time, and wiping off the canvas omg you have to last damn long so your last team can come in. It's so much more brutal than any other fight.

It took me 2 hours of upgrading, redoing my build and trying over and over.

Just finished this masterpiece. Going to play some doom then do it again

The hype this has received is quite ridiculous. I really don't see what the fuss is about. I suppose this is really about newer generations growing up and rediscovering the world.

How many hours have you invested in the game so far?
