Classifieds Section Changes

Hi folks

Many members have complained that scammers are using the Classifieds section and that new guys often spam this section. To limit these problems we implemented a restriction where only members who have been registered for 3 months and have at least 50 posts can post ads in the Classifieds section.

We hope this will create a safer and friendlier environment for MyBroadband members to buy and sell goods.

I think that those limitations are quite fair. Won't stop the scammers in their tracks, but will make it a wee bit more difficult for them.

well im the silent reader type person, i dont need to post things on every thread possible available. but do sometimes have stuff to sell....alas.

post a few posts over the next bit & return to silent reader status then it will all be avail to you as it was before.

They have to post a few times & wait 90days. I think most would be rather reluctant

^ I was also a lurker for a while before I decided to commit.
I start by reading a few threads in a forum, maybe come back after a month (or longer), to get the feel of the place and then I have to decide whether I would join and be dormant....it takes me forever to join forums.
I still think it is a good idea thou to have a "cool off" period for the classified.
