Cleaning Solar Panels

Don't mind slow :) cause no one will really use it till late month.
Yea know some peolle that let it become a green pond leaves and all

ie switch pump off and hibernate

And then do a spring clean when water gets warmer rinse repeat every year

Yup I know a few people who do that as well, I try to keep my pool reasonable throughout the year. Oddly enough it went really green in February as we had a really wet month so didn't run the pool pump cause of no sun.

10% more generation compared to yesterday, Tuesday and Monday

I have always noticed a difference after even just hosing down our panels, might not be as much as 10% but it isn't nothing like others have experienced.
The nothing I am sure is cause they stop charging early so don't really ever see peaks.

Yes, my batteries are typically full charged before I hit the peak PV power so its difficult to gauge on my side.

I increased the pool run time from 5 to 8 hours a day to make use of the extra solar because once my batteries go into float I am only using some 500W from the panels. With pool pump Is around 1kw.

Actually got me thinking about investing in an EV car. The cheaper ones have some 300 to 400km range. That is plenty to cover my commute during the week as I cover 50km a day in total. Leave to charge during the weekend. Free transport hack considering there is next to no maintenance on EVs.

Batteries last over 10 years and I saw autotrader review one with over 700k km. Might be a worthwhile buy. The BYD dolphin is less than 500k if I am not mistaken so it could be the perfect run around car.

Yea some recover better than Others

Marblelite you have to keep it clean
Cause once roots shoots in those marks are permanent

Fibre linning even if you have a stain a few months of keeping it clean it can revover

AQI in JHB today sitting at 160. Terrible air quality affecting peak once again.

Yup, it wasn't too bad last couple of days, but then there were clouds.

Cleaned another layer of mars dust off panels yesterday and now when I saw peak not reaching as expected I checked AQI and sure enough it's the worst I've seen in a while.

Yeah also cleaned a bunch of dust yesterday, red icky stuff. Considering I did that only a week ago it's like wtf... This has been the worst in awhile.
But in saying that, this is the first season with the new system so still not sure what my ultimate peak is, have hit close to 8

I cleaned two weeks ago and when I checked yesterday it looked as though I'd neglected to do it all winter.

I'm sure you'll see a healthy jump in peak when we finally get some rain to clean up the air.

Yeah let's hope so, also if that rain is between 5pm and 5am that would be great :-)
