Ping statistics for 168.210.2.2:
Packets: Sent = 55, Received = 36, Lost = 19 (34% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 51ms, Maximum = 3975ms, Average = 587ms
Control-C

after about 1 min the ping stablized at roughly 250ms
with stable ping to dns i decided to try and open a web page. Everytime i open a page ( or refreshed one) I would start getting a request timeout. As soon as the page times out the ping request would resume. ( I couldn't ping the second DNS at all (196.14.239.2))

Edit:
got home still same problem.
Did traceroute to the dns
C:\Users\haszak>tracert 168.210.2.2

Whoosh down in Blackheath Area

Experiencing problems with Cell C in the Blackheath area since Friday 22nd April (Using the 5GB p.m. 3G package with the black router). The 3g modem connects but I am unable to download anything, the network icon simply says no Internet access. Also have colleagues who have experienced similar problems intermittently in other areas of Joburg throughout the past week. Phoned cell C who after checking that my firewall was not blocking it escalated the query to their backend support simply telling me that I must wait 24-48 hours. I asked if they would contact me to give me an update but I was advised that I just need to keep on checking and call them after 48 hours if not working. I find it incredible that we, the customers, are kept in the dark and must just keep on paying for the lack of service not the mention the interruption to our businesses! Surely the consumer protection act should offer some recourse in situations like these?

Same here - see my earlier post regarding this. It has been closed by a moderator for some reason.

Reasons which have clearly been explained both in my replies, PM and the OP of the thread I directed you too.

Cell C connection at night? Anyone else have issues?

Howsit,

I have noticed over the past 2 to 3 days that my cell c connection on the whoosh has been erratic like i would be downloading a distro of linux and the torrent would just go dead with no connection, i try browse and there no connection yet the dongle is still connected? has anyone else had the same issue?

Thats ontop of the max connection of 2.5mbits (hope thats the right one)

When this happens are you still able to visit www.cellc.co.za?

CellC connected, but no download speed

I am sending this from my MTN phone as CellC has yet again f*up...

Get good HSDPA connection, but I can't even get Google to open. No download speed... zip... Gatvol with CellC!

I have recently moved to a different area in Durbanville and it seems that the entire Durbanville is a " No Go" with CellC.

Sort this crap out or stop selling a service that you can't deliver.

Best "3G what ever" my ass. You suck!

Same here in Randburg.... Did CellC have an entire Network meltdown or something? They can at least notify us through myBB FFS.

I am at the end of my tether. After months of smooth sailing, this month and last has been a complete fckp.

On my way to VC shop now to get that 2Gb deal.

Same in Nelspruit. I am back to Vodacom as they do at least give a stable connection. My two (yes, 2) Cell C modems is useless. Wasted R5000 a few months back on it.

Vodacom has got this great special for R149/m for 2 gig that made it less painful. Thanks Voda. Stuff Cell C.
