hi guys

i need help with connecting my standard Dstv decoder to two tv's

i currently have the main lounge tv connected via rca and the rf out connected to the tv in the room.

the lounge is working perfectly however when i scan the room tv i cant seem to get a picture.

additional info:
i connected the rf out to my lounge tv and i got a picture, but the quality wasnt 100% it had flakes.
also i have splitters or other connections

your assistance will be highly appreciated
Thanking You

I bought a low pass active filter/splitter to basically keep the heartbeat between my two decoders.

One of the advantages is you can tap off a co-ax to each tv and have perfect signal.

another thing to consider is to change the channels(frequencies) to as low values as possible. Lower frequencies travel better over longer cables.

I had a problem almost identical to this. The only way I could resolve this was to drop the decoders RF channel from around 67 to a lower channel like 33 (just make sure that channel is unoccupied). In my experience DSTV decoders output a fairly week signal and on long co-axial runs they get impeded easier at the higher channel (higher frequency). Lower Channel (lower frequency) is less prone to impedance on long runs.

i thank you for your response, how would i go about lowering the rf channel and how do i know if the channel is taken?

turns out the rf out was faulty, i took it to the dstv center and they exchanged it for a later model decoder (mine was discontinued).

thanks to everyone who posted, it is much appreciated
