I have a bit of a weird situation here...

Yesterday my Afrihost account ran out of b/w, so in my router I switched to my backup prepaid Afrihost account. (I have a D-Link DSL2640U)

Everything synchronises and authenticates correctly (all lights green, DNS IP addresses retrieved correctly etc) but there is zero connectivity (i.e. I can't browse/ping anywhere).

I then also tried my Webafrica Local Prepaid account with the same issue, so I don't think it's an ISP thing.

I've called both Afrihost and Webafrica (both suggest DNS, which it doesn't seem to be) and Telkom have reset and resynched my line twice to no avail.

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Like I said, I haven't changed anything in the router config besides the account name and password.

Thanks

I would have suggested DNS as well...

For afrihost, which dns entrya re you using? Try adding the DNS entry u see int he router interface to the tcp\ip of your machinel

All is well now. It seems editing the config via Google Chrome lost some of the arcane and esoteric settings of the D-Link. What a waste of time.
