content charge on mtn

This has happened to me before from a company called Smartcall. I managed to get those ones cancelled through MTN, but never got refunded a cent.. Now this month more new charges from Tmobile.. i can't understand how they subscribe you to these services, and why does MTN not notify you???

I have still not received my refunds(3 months on), and the only time the guys respond is when WASPA sends an email or WASPA is copied on the email. So your best bet is to get WASPA involved.
For Tmobile, you can try 0878204085
No answer on that number or on 083 900 7195. I have also asked MTN to cancel the charges

that was the problem I had with this ... no notification .. no content ... yet I got billed twice .... seems to have stopped now ... but even though the amounts were small I was not going to let these sleaze balls get away with it .... so contacted first for the refund and heard nothing, then got WASPA involved and then actually started to get feedback ... but still taking their damn sweet time

the prob I have with WASPA is that they do not provide any details about how they plan on preventing this in the future.
For now I am using MTN parental control to block all content that they allow .. maybe give that a try

TMobileSA have also illegally debited from 3 of my cellphone accounts this past month. MTN subscribers - check your accounts. These are scam artists through and through ... and MTN are clearly complicit in this.

At no time did I subscribe or signup for any of their so called 'SMS services' ...

The fact that MTN allow them to operate on their network ( and share in their illegal profits ) is disgusting.

Filed a complaint, called them to reverse all charges. They are oh so nice over the phone...

If I don't get the cash before long, I'll be keen to lodge a case of theft or fraud with the cops. Would anything come of that, or is it more trouble than it's worth?

well think... if T-mobile manages R5 on 2 million peoples accounts... the oke can retire after 3 months.

I haven't got anywhere, had to pay the bill because MTN refused to remove the content charge. I have now blocked all content charges with the Parental Lock.... seems to be working

hate to do this .. but better u warned than not .... they apparently only bill u after like 3 months ... so u can probably expect more charges in your next mtn bill :(

as for the parental lock .... no idea if it is working ... but it seems lame as it only has a few categories ... what about all the other categories?? mtn could not answer me on this ..... they apparently put me thru to their "technical" department but no one ever picked up the phone.
and please do make sure u get a refund .... I know it is/maybe a small amount and probably cheaper than the phones calls ... but I hate that they can do this and will more than likely profit from it as most people are too lazy to complain or hound them for the refund

that was my thinking precisely ... which is y I made sure that I get my refund :)
so far I have only confirmed receipt of my refund from computek ..... but seems as tmobile may have also refunded the money ... but have to wait for next months bill to confirm ... amazing how it takes months to sort this ***** out!!!

one other thing guys ... please make sure to lodge a complaint with WASPA if u have been charged without consent/authorisation ..... I want WASPA to really get off their ass and do something about these scumbags ..... want them to get fined at the very least ... which will hopefully make them think twice about doing this again

how about opening a fraud case agaist t-mobile and mtn, transfering money from someone 's account without authorisation must surely be fraud,I also cancelled t-mobile subscriptions twice in six months

It must be fraud. I'll report to WASPA regardless of them returning my money. Even if they have the (pathetic) line of 'if money is returned, we don't follow up', the more mud that is thrown the way of tmobile, the better. Some will stick and hopefully someone takes notice.

Scumbags- no system can be that bad. Definitely fraud..

can you not get the number for the WASP then google and get contact numbers

Always be careful of data in SA. It can quite quickly go from a bit of overspending to budget breaking.

Still being charged Content Charges this month.. this time its from a different company "Virginia Technology" or something like that. It seems impossible to block content charges as I have asked MTN to cancel all charges (which they say has been done) and am using parental lock.... its not big amounts but I am getting charged monthly for services that I have never signed up for and am not using.

What I don't understand is that MTN says its out of their control and they cannot even provide me with any proof or logging of where i supposedly signed up for "SMS services"....

that is precisely the problem .... no proof of acceptance of service, yet they bill you. This has to be fraud. I think its time someone logged it with SAPS and see what comes of that. If I get this again I am going to try that, but hopefully I won't get it again(holds thumbs).

go to WASPA and log a complaint ... that seems to be the only thing they understand and the only way to get results.
btw, do not allow them to deposit the refund directly into your bank account, as the bank will charge you cash handling fees.

Log a complaint against MTN themselves or the company supposedly charging you? The thing is that the companies charging me keep changing and even MTN have given me different company names for the same content charge.....

I am not sure Malasius, but I would think MTN (or both), as MTN is the one that is billing you for a service that was never provided, or you never requested.
