Cool Ideas bought Mind the Speed

RIP MTS
now is it Afrihost and Cool ideas buying out the competition or was it the MTS CEO and shareholders looking for a quick paycheck before FNO pricing and VAT increases? I see this as an unfair play against the customers especially the non-tech savy

So mind the speed has some useful data usage monitoring including the ability to see the current up/down usage.

I was with cool ideas before and I remember them not offering anything similar back then. Now that we're able to login to the cool ideas portal it looks as if they still don't have anything?
Due to the uncapped and unshaped nature of our products we don't currently offer any way to check your data usage on a line.
This can, however, be setup on your local network; it's best to contact your IT consultant to get assistance in setting this up.

Are we going to lose the nice and low ping to Singapore (sub 130ms) during this migration?

MTS do use Network Platforms who get them this latency so more than likely you will. My ping on CISP to Singapore ain't great

Has anyone managed to log onto the portals, etc. listed in the 2nd migration mail? According to the mailer, the billing zone, debit order update, etc. was going to be available on Friday (18/04) but I can't access anything. This is why I need to find another ISP asap.

I managed to login however I was a client with then before joining MTS. It does show active on my account too and the speeds match. Does it not recognize your account or just state incorrect password?

I'm able to navigate to the login page, enter the username and password, complete the "I'm not a robot" verification, and click login. However, the page simply reloads and returns to the login screen without displaying any error message. Password reset emails aren't delivered either.

No! Also can't login and a password reset doesnt work as in I don't receive an email from Cool Ideas. Even if you want support you have to login. Can't login, no support!! Not impressed yet. MTS was the BEST. Cool Ideas got big shoes to fill!

Yea mts used Splynx, we use it and I think old @websquadza uses it.

Looks like we might have to then actually contact cool ideas before the end of the month.
Also not sure if we have to update login details on the router or if it'll be done automagically like MTS did with their management of it. Time will tell on the 1st I guess.

Which ISP are you if you don't mind me asking?

Public IPs always, and we are going to keep the same IP space.
So I won't lose my static IP address? I have a ton of clients opened up to my public IP address and if this changes it will pose a major problem

I own Pretoria WISP www.pretoria-wisp.co.za I don't do fibre but the partner company we work along side has just gotten their ASN number and are busy doing their own thing in Cape Town. Trying to get another router setup in jhb then we can get better latency. All depends...

I personally use Rocketnet and they use Splynx for their management portal , Im not a rep but I haven't had problems with them personally

already with another isp but I will keep you guys in mind , do you offer fibre based solutions or mostly just wisp?
I'm just a Wisp. I do very select fiber as the aim is a more premium service but I find working with FNO is... difficult primarily do Openserve. Waiting on a router at JHB to become available just to bring latency down from 45ms to 4ms. I offer a 1 to 1 service so no call center stuff.
