Treason is usually something associated with the military.

Any overt act unlawfully committed by a person owing allegiance to a state with intent to overthrow, impair, violate, threaten or endanger to existence, independence or security of the State or to overthrow or coerce the Government of the State or change the constitutional structure of the State.

As civilians, we're not compelled to owe allegiance to the state, we don't owe the state a fscking thing. ;) Military personnel, however, do. Also paintballing a police station in no way shows intent to overthrow the government :rolleyes:

you missed out "impair, violate, threaten or endanger "

'violate' is a reason why they could be charged

you must look at all of the reasons,not just the one.

You know why the kids are being charged so heavily, it's because, as a joke, they made the police do more work than if it wasn't.

Try it, you phone them and tell them you're about to be murdered, those cops will STROLL to the car, casually unlock the door, get in, reverse out doing a 100 point reverse, arrive and be so casual about it all.

THOSE WHO MAKE POLICE WORK MORE THAN THEY USED TOO MUST BE PUNISHED! :D

Stupid behaviour.. but attempted murder and treason? I think in SA you have to seriously commit crime to the best of your ability...because god forbid you're construed as a soft target.

As someone correctly stated... real cop killers don't even get treason.

Perhaps you can explain to me just how firing a paintball gun at a police car actually violates the "existence, independence or security of the State".

And then you can maybe explain just how these kids actually acted with the intent to do just that, since that's also a requirement.

Methinks you've been sniffing from one too many glue pots.
