Coverage in Greenstone

Hi there, would like to get the 5GB data promotion bundle to use it primarily in Greenstone. Although coverage has been confirmed from Cell C, my test prepaid simcard only connects to EDGE and produces terrible speed tests. See:

Im am only running it on a Huawei E220 though,, could that be the problem? Also I did not purchase a data-bundle since i only wanted to test reception and speed.

Anyone else out here that already uses 4G in Greensonte Hill ?
 
I am moving to Greenstone (Emerald estate) next year and I have a 21.2mbps speed stick. I will go there this weekend with my laptop and try it out and let you know.
 
The E220 does not support WCDMA 900MHz so it will only connect at EDGE speeds. Read the sticky thread for more info.
 
thanx for the quick reply! The cell c store is about 800m from me and over there speed is fine (so they say)! ...now i know that it's probably just my old modem and I'm confident to get the new stick tomorrow. It comes with a 7 days return policy, so i let you guys know... ;)

Great, interested to see how quick it is. Where about is Greenstone do you stay?

Just remember it comes with a R250 handling fee if you return it within 7 days, so make sure you have a good signal.

R250 buys you a nice meal at Greenstone Spur...:D

Yeah greenstone coverage is TERRIBLE! dont get it!
 
My very first speed test: ! Looks goof to me, especially uplaod is no comparison to any other network in this area. Signal strength is 90+ % - and that even in areas in the house where Vodacom or MTN would fail me in the past..! Great stuff, hope you keep it up Cell C :-)
 
If anyone is in Emerald Estate in Greenstone please post speed :)
