Coverage Queries

I must say that I have been quite surprised by 8ta's severe service improvements! While it's a little rough around the edges, they heading in the right direction.

Two technical people have been to my place (desktop support and then a networking technician) from 8ta because of the 0% coverage. The network guy requested a boost of power to the closest mast with no effect, they then requested a mast rotation (?!) with no luck. I was then advised that I would get a free booster aerial installed an everything but then was later told that they are going to boost power to all masts in my area and then take it from there.

I must say that i was appalled with the initial service I received from them but I'm actually quite impressed with them now even though my connection is not working.

Ok, now that CellC has stopped there R50 special i'm a little desperate for a new connection. When can we expect 8ta to sort out the coverage issues in Rivonia?
 
I am very very unhappy. I bought a 8ta prepaid just to check it out because I want to sign up for the 10GB contract. I am in a fully covered 3G area in Sandton and I plugged the simcard in.... NO SIGNAL... not even EDGE or anything. Getting a -95dBI signal...

And they made sure that I am in a covered area before they sold it to me.....
I don't want to leave 8ta, because of the good prices on data, but hell, this is totally unacceptable.

Logged a query and I am still to hear from 8ta!

You didn't say your SIM had been provisioned for non-roaming. Check it out.
If you did above, use manual search in your phone or modem and select 8ta network. It can be stuck to the MTN, but no longer allowed to connect.
 
@sajunky My SIM had been provisioned for non-roaming... The 8ta network does not even appear upon a manual search, it picks up the MTN, Vodacom and CellC networks, no 8ta.

Thanks for the advice though!
 
Then hurry up for Vodacom 20Gig special, or CellC promo sticks @old price. People are reporing there are still available in CNA or Game stores,
