Crazy requests from ADSL subscribers

Murder is pretty intense. Was it verified?

Sounds like a prank call.

One ADSL subscriber refused to let a Telkom technician into her house unless he removed his shoes. However, technicians are forbidden to do so for safety reasons.
Don't track in dirt. Why are they not allowed to do this in someone's house? If they have to mess with the wires, sure, put your shoes back on, most of the time they just plug in their modem, check it and go outside to work on the line though.

I'll rather wash and vacuum afterwards, than be without Internet.

Yeah, but how is the request weird? All guests in my house are usually asked to remove their shoes.

i did that for a bit, smells so weird at the front door of a house like that.

i later thought i would rather use those shoe cover/sock thingies if it bothers me that much to clean my house.

I tend to avoid going to the houses of people who ask me to take off my shoes. Unless you're Japanese I don't want to know about it.

Don't know about weird request but I have been offered various  things for helping out clients.

Those that were extremely happy of course to line restored.

I have been asked to do that before in Muslim and Asian households.

Only problem was I did not know about the hole in my sock until after I removed my shoes. I tried to stand next to furniture where I could hide it, which prompted the little boy to stare at me with a huge question mark on his face. :D

In the UK a lot of people also do this as they would otherwise have to clean up mud from their carpets almost every day.

Yeah, removing your shoes when the floor is carpeted is common practice. Dunno what's weird about it?

Not weird request. Just people with background from countries where it is snowing, stick to this rule.

With our costs on electricity, it is cheaper to take off shoes than to spend kilowatts per day to power wet clean vacuumer.

By the way, dust in the house is not healthy.
