Hi there

My friend that i am staying with uses a Vodacom 3G connection to browse the web... but she also uses a wi-fi card to connect to my access point to copy files and print....

but the problem is.... my internet runs through my AP. I have blocked her wi-fi card's mac address from accessing the internet but now it seems that she either has to browse the web over 3G or connect to the Wi-Fi and copy files.... because every time we try to get them both connected.... nothing works...

Does anyone know of a way around this?

so you only have two computers, and the printer is shared from your computer?

have you tried to add a persistent route to direct all packets from the destined for your IP to be sent to the AP as the default gateway.

Example: c:\route -p add <your pc's network IP> MASK <your subnet mask> <AP IP address>

* for your PC's network address you will to have a .0 if your submet mask is 255.255.255.0
example:ip address 192.168.10.2 mask 255.255.255.0
your network ip will be 192.168.10.0 mask 255.255.255.0

let me know if this works

if you need help with the specific IP's you can PM me

My AP is a Linksys WRT54G with DD-WRT on it...

But yeah, I'm moving out today, so I guess that also kinda solves the problem... lol
