Yep, remember when they lost the WC final here.
Kirsten should be safe for a few more games though.

They seem to be blaming the IPL, ICL and inflated egos after the Oz tour for distracting the players
 
Well Well Well ... i dont really follow cricket if Australia is not playing but when i heard how you guys destroyed the Indians, I must say i am impressed. Looks like S.A got a winning team at the moment. Lets hope when it counts ( WC) you guys can pull it off.

Me too, I'm not a fan of Mickey but congrats to him and the boys, outstanding performance, possibly one of the greatest ever, this Indian side is so strong and to put them to the sword in this fashion is huge!!! They can make all the excuses they like but a hiding of this magnitude is biblical...
 
Well Sanjay Manjrekar is already making excuses, saying that India missed Tendulkar and they may not have done too badly if he was playing! Wtf! Tendulkar sucks against us, he always has - but more than that, why is it that every time they lose they find some excuse instead of rectifying their basics which was pathetic in this match.

I can't speak for the rest, but I wanted him out simply because I found him irritating, no other reason :p

Maybe it isn't about how well or badly he plays but more about the spirit he brings to the team - perhaps just gives the others a bit more confidence and allows them to play a bit more freely.

He isn't going to be playing forever, they have to learn to play without him.
 
About Mickey, as much as I dislike the guy, you can't really complain about our results since he took over.

Same thing with Smiff - I really dislike that guy, but he's just equaled Hansie's record for test wins.

Guess I'm just going to have to put up with them.

this is quite true. i think we would quite confidently feel we could take on oz in odis. as for tests i think we can quite honestly feel we are definitely the 2nd best team. and be confident of pipping the aussies in a series. there is something mentally about this team.

The difference between us and the Aussies, IMO, is that the Aussies are on the way down, while we're getting better and better.

Though, that may just be wishful thinking. :p

Been looking at their possible new Test players.

3 guys competing to replace Gilchrist.
More than 5 batmen that average over 50 in fc cricket.
A few decent quick bowlers.
No decent spinner.:)

They'll be good for a few more years.:(

the difference i think for a long while has been mentality. but the oz vs proteas debate is for another thread. i agree with your general statement. though down for the aussies may still be quite a high level.

there is something in the aussie approach of only letting players into the national side as they near 30.

the aussies have huge problems

i predict a decline is the aussie and South africa to dominate cricket

we have so many good players coming through and the aussies are losing stars and not able to replace them with amazing players
