I'm just a bit confused here. Did Govender do wrong or is CSA looking to get rid of her because she was close to Thabang Maroe?

No-one can ever know what the f*** those clowns are doing. One day we may find out what's been happening in there if someone writes a book in thirty years' time.

True, I don't exactly trust the new regime either especially given that Boucher was appointed without an interview. which is the definition of nepotism.

Plus, Zac Yacoob was quite an ass to a Journalist

Yeah, there’s no clear-cut good guys and bad guys. Everyone involved seems a little dodge.

THis is what happens when you get people involved with personal agendas, and who have never been involved with the game in any shape of form.
It becomes the laughing stock of world cricket.

Greame Smith has been involved in the game.

I know Boucher has the credentials to be coach, but surely Smith would have known that he would at least have to interview other candidates for the job (especially as Boucher was not the only one on the domestic radar who is Proteas coaching material).

They could have even just interviewed him and Enoch Nkwe. Nkwe is a decent enough candidate especially given that he would have got experience as Gibson's assistant. Some might say that he was not a good player but so was Mickey Arthur (who was our best coach to date).

Sorry man, I meant the actual people running CSA. The CEO etc. They have all seemed to not have the interests of the game at heart. The actual playing side has been fine. It's the admin that's a nightmare.

What this means for the remaining spot in the World Test Championship final:

  • India: must win at least two of the remaining Tests, and win or draw the third remaining Test. If England wins another Test, India cannot qualify for the final.
  • England: must win at least two of the remaining Tests, regardless of the result of the third remaining Test.
  • Australia: will be hoping for a drawn series (makes no difference whether it's 1-1 or 2-2) or England winning the series 1-0, 2-0 or 2-1, and these outcomes are now more likely than they were before. (Australia would have also been hoping for a 1-0 India win, but that can't happen now).

Enoch was never Gibson's assistant, that was Malibongwe Maketa.
Enoch had a great record with the lions at domestic level as their head coach, won the msl and 4 day series. Also great record with their youth teams.
He was assistant to Ray Jennings with the under 19 team of aiden markram and kg rabada who won the under 19 wc. Also did a stint as assistant coach of netherlands.

Was basically handed a poison chalice by moroe. Appointed as coach for the india tour with no time to prepare.

The West Indies had a dismal limited over series against the Bangladesh Tigers. It definitely was not their strongest team and many were absent (possibly earning 'Tom' in T20s elsewhere?).

West Indies have the Tigers is a spot of bother at the moment with the Tigers 71/4 in their reply to WI 409 all out.

Trail by 338 and now much pressure (again) on Rahim, Mithun and Das.

Windies doing well again. Very impressed.

They would have been much better if their board was in order and there was much less internal squabbles.

They usually only have their best possible xi around when it is time for the T20 World Cup and its questionable if even that is their best possible xi.

Sadly, I don't see WI growing back to its former glory because of the internal politics.

Sounds like us TBH. Still, credit goes to their current players being very competitive.

Their board makes CSA look professional. There have been some very embarrassing incidents involving them. In the mid 2000s, there were a few games where literally all their players went on strike and they played a team of unknown players.

With all that though, their tournament success record since 2000 is much better than ours. 2 T20 world Cups and one Champions Trophy.

2nd test England v India kicking off in front of a crowd. Wow. Got to say, it's beautiful to have a live crowd again.
