India's 320 odd first innings total is more like 500 on this deck!! One has to ask the question, are we going to see a toss-centric result? Is it acceptable for a day 2 pitch to be behaving like a day 5 pitch? Was Rohit's 161(230) the best innings ever?

England 17/2 in the 8th over...

Rohit had a couple of lucky chances going his way. But I think he just played a one day game and it worked.

This is not a thing new in India. When we toured there years ago, it was the same story.
It's one thing preparing a pitch that suits your strengths but at the very least it should be fair in that it retains its character for at least 3 to 4 days. Doesn't matter where in the world you are, a pitch is going to wear and play quite differently on days 4 and 5. But this deck has been s hit from day 1. And getting worse. India made good use of it on day 1 and they bowling pretty damn well today so can't say it's all pitch....

If England don't avoid the follow on would India enforce it? And risk batting 4th on this deck? Would they back themselves to bowl England out again cheaply and be chasing less than 100 for victory?
