Cricket: International Discussion Thread

IND 212/4 (20)

AFG 212/6 (20)

Mukesh Kumar to Gulbadin, 2 runs, we've a super over
India were allowed to cheat by the umps. Went to a second super over. Rohit had retired out in the first super over. Not allowed to bat again if you were out in the first super over.
If India claim he retired hurt its absolute bs as he was back 5 mins later.

Yeah, much discussion going on there. Although it was somewhat in the rules, I think it was not in the spirit of the game for Rohit to retire and get someone with fresh legs to run the last 2 runs.

As for coming out in the 2nd super over ... well
A hint of controversy as we wrap up the coverage of the 3rd T20I. Was Rohit declared retired out / retired hurt. If it was the former, he couldn't have come out to bat for the second time, but is there any ambiguity in the game that he could have walked away retired hurt in the first super-over? If so, Rohit has played the rules perfectly.

No the rules says if you retire out you can't comeback. Only way he could come back is if he retired hurt and for that umpires need to accept he was hurt. How was he hurt if he returned 5 mins later?

Its a rules & spirit issue.

Either way. Whatever respect I had for Rohit, it has gone down the drain.

Maxwell clearly seems to have a drinking problem, remember a few months ago he also injured himself falling of a golf cart.
It does not state that he was the cause of the incident.. could've been as a result of someone else's alcohol intake :D Also, doing stupid stuff when UI doesn't necessarily indicate "a drinking problem" :D

Agreed but he has had more than1 of these incidents. Was also invovlded in a cycle accident in the IPL while "tipsy" and also broke his leg at a friends 50th birthday party. There might be inceidents I am not aware off but can't recall any other athelete that has as many off the field injuries
