Agreed! We were completely sunk and now have a great chance. The Indians must be wondering what happened.
 
Overall good performance (except our top order again) by SA. Fielding, bowling were excellent.

We depend too much on our lower order too much. Those last 5 batsmen always pull us out of the holes the top order gets us into.
 
The only reason that Smith is in the team is because he's captain. He's grown too comfortable and arrogant thinking that his selection is automatic because of the captaincy, and because of this couldn't really give a stuff about his poor batting performances. He needs a wake up call, should be dropped for the next 2 ODI's and captaincy handed over to Boucher in the mean time. Now we have the situation of an opener who is guaranteed not to perform, but the selectors are to gutless to drop him because he's captain. Waste of a spot I say, we may as well play with 10 players.
 
Actually its a thing with batmen, a lot of them think they are permanent fixtures in the team unlike the bowlers who get rotated and changed according to match conditions and form. That should be changed.. Gibbs and Ab are kinda the two that don't entirely depend on batting for their place as their fielding often saves a lot of runs in a match.. right now it looks like a batting sucks and everything else is working fine.

The thing that sucks is the Indian team is struggling so these get out of jail incidents are kinda bad in that respect even if we do thump them. Which is why the aussies are where they are.

simply put,welldone polly,kemp and hall!

if it wasnt for them we would be sitting prolly with a loss,But again the first 3 batsman failed utterly.

hall and kemp had one hell of a game thats for sure.
 
I see Jonty is the fielding coach at the moment, seems to be doing a great job at it...

He nicked the ball and stood like a cheater.... like a diver in soccer.. no difference! You know when people complain about guys like ballack, totti, italians in general :p, well this is the same thing.
And he got dropped by tendulkar...

played well after that tho...smacked a couple of bigguns

India have no chance dravid is gone now as well... this is turning out to be a horror tour for them. and in tests lol. no chance, innings defeat after innings defeat.

I don't watch soccer but I kinda don't know if the rules of the game specifies that a batsmen should walk. It's more a gentleman's agreement?? Gilly often walks and good for him, but I wouldn't define 'Cheating' as something one does that does not go against the rules?
The umpire should make that call, end of story. What if the umpire gives a batsman out LBW and replays shows it "goes down leg" or pitches outside the line, or too high? Do you complain that the batsman was cheated?

As they say some go against you and some goes in ur favor, that's cricket mate, not cheating!
 
Yeah just like how the Aussies were talking about that agreement and during the test in the Wanderers earlier in the year, Rudolph walked on a disputed dismissal and Lee stood when he clearly edged the ball. You can't have your way every single game. If I was Kemp, I prob wouldn't have walked as well considering his team were about to be beaten very badly.

Hi Fiekus. In soccer diving isn't exactly punished severely either. if the ref sees youre diving, he gives a yellow card. But more often than not, the ref doesn't and the diver is rewarded.

I have no problems with a batsmen been giving out or not out in an lbw shout cos its hard for him to know if hes out and obviously the umpire can make mistakes.
However, if every player walked when he edged the ball, dont you think there would be less wrong decisions by the umpire? for example, when a team goes up for a catch against gilly, and the umpire thinks he nicked it, do you think he ll give him out? i dont think so because the umpire knows at the back of his mind that he wuda walked. so the correct decision will be made.

Next time when the team appeals against kemp and the umpire wrongly thinks Kemp nicked the ball and gives him out, he will be wrongly given out. So if a batsmen is honest, and the umpires can trust them, there will be no wrong decisions made by umpires regarding nicks.

Just my opinion, but something has to be done for diving in soccer and this crap in cricket.... For example if this was a world cup final, this decision makes such a big difference. It could even cost a team the world cup....Cos if kemp was out then, sa wuda probably got around 120.. and lost badly
 
@sparkle : not likely.... in fact the possibility is 0. When u nick the ball, you know you've nicked the ball, esp with such a large deviation
 
hmmm 4-1 again that donkey gets out.... in pretty much the same way i assume, to the same bowler...... 3 in a row.. lol
