Just remember smith is also batting for the second(?) time in months.

I am sure he want to build a bit of confidence first.

Also smith does generally start dominating after he passes 70 odd.
 
Imagine we ended the day on like 405 for 0 like we did in Bangladesh!!! Smith and Mac both getting double hundreds that would be awsome!!!!!!! :D
 
Well, mickey arthur said that SA would rather like to win massive than quick, so the batsmen get alot of time in middle and the bowlers.

If we win quick, it will be massive. One cannot win quick without utterly destroying the opposition. So a quick victory will have to be massive.

Probably just want to play "normal" cricket in the 1st test.
Then fsck around 20/20 style in the final one.

Probably. They haven't played in a while so maybe they're just being a bit cautious at first.

Our batsmen need the practice, and I am not sure that our oneday bowling lineup could defend 500 runs against the bangladeshish :o
