Cricket: Test Cricket

Poor batting display just like the first innings in perth and again the inability to finish off the tail on good batting pitches is worrying.

We can only hope that once he qualifies for SA that Tahir being a leg spinner can help with that.

I still don't get why our fast bowlers are so nice to the tailenders?? Once siddle got hit he was out next ball. Why didn't they face a bouncer assault??

As i was listening to the radio, half asleep, and half awake - the commentators didnt have kind words about ntini at all. They wondered what he was doing there.

Bowling, fielding and batting he needs to improve, they said.

I'm glad to see Biffy is batting well this tour, i like him and want to see him do well, particularly against the Aussies.

I told you guys we lose focus and concentration after winning the first test against our opposition. We have done it against many countries in the recent past and it's happening again.

As bad as the situation is, I'm only glad that we avoided the follow-on and let the Aussies set the pace for the match and we try to chase whatever they put on the board. It will have been terrible to follow on and hand them a victory by setting a measly target of 60.

Geez you guys give up on us so easily, yes we are not doing all that well but lets wait and see what happens, we may bowl them out for 200 and chase down 400 again, even if we lose so what, to have won one test against the aussies in aus is just awesome and shows how far we have come.

Yep, remember, its a 5 day game - it changes from hour to hour, day to day.

Its not over till its over, so dont get hung up on how it went today - its far from finished

Yeah yeah yeah... we will be lucky to reach 250. That's a deficit of 150. Then AUS will come in to bat and score another 360, leaving us 500 to win with a day and a half to go, assuming they bat for 1.5 days themselves. So tell me how exactly do you see SA winning this one? They've lost their focus and concentration many times like this in the recent past and it's happening again. Anyway, I wish them well.

I can't believe McKenzie failed again. This is so disappointing. :(
The only way he will salvage anything is if he bats out of his skin in the second innings, and wins the match for SA.

Well, we just pipped the 300 run mark, with 2 wickets in hand. In the first test we had a deficit of 94 runs and won. The deficit is about the same in this test, and we still have a wicket or two in hand, so theoretically, we're better off than the previous test. Let's also not forget Brett Lee's injury, even if he is able to bowl, he will not be at full fitness - giving the OZ's only 2 seamers and one off spinner.

Duminy's contribution has been epic. The match is far from over. This one's going down to the wire.

Duminy now 103 and Steyn 60 - go you beauties [insert cheering smiley here]

Sorry mercurial - don't mean to rub in your prediction, but I'm sure that you're equally happy to have gotten it wrong. South Africa now leading... with 2 wickets in hand. Who woulda guessed.

What a performance - now this is what a call "team performance"

Well played JP & Dale

[Wishful thinking] Ntini scores a half century [/Wishful thinking]
