What? Leave out Tahir when Botha is still in the team?

We should drop Morkel for Lopsy. And Bring in Ingram for Botha. Win win.

It baffles me when the selectors cannot see this. I've already noted this before the WC even started. Morkel is terrible in the sub-continent and Botha is just well, terrible.

Botha can bat and keep the runs way down so i cannot find an argument for dropping botha for anyone.

We will see who contributes more today, botha or tahir. Right now botha is just pure legend. Let's wait and see what tahir can manage later on.

You don't base such decisions on one match alone. Throughout the WC, Tahir has a better economy rate, a better average and way more wickets. Bowlers aren't picked on their ability to maybe score a quick 20. It's not like we've seen Tahir bat yet anyway.

It's all about the player as a whole. Not just a day's performance. In a high scoring game Botha is fodder.

Botha is decent at times, can sometimes be expensive, but he cannot take wickets. Tahir can.

Sure. All these players could be match winners. But you have to pick the team based on form, talent and surroundings. They're just putting our regular team down with a few spinners mixed in.
 
good move by smith to get Steyn. NZ will want to start scoring more freely soon. Bringing him back will keep the pressure.

It is not always wickets that win games, so if tahir takes 2 wickets but goes for 4 runs and botha takes no wickets and goes for 3 runs an over who had the better day? Botha lowering the run rate makes it more likely they will need to play big shots which will lead to wickets, perhaps not for botha but his tight bowling contributed.

So many variables but botha can bowl well, field well, batting is decent until tahir shows me something similar i would pick botha plus i don't want to turn into an england type setup relying on people from other countries winning us games :D.
