I just got a Cryptic SMS from Vodacom that reads:

"i.. keep u entertained! i.. keep u
informed! i... surf! i... react to your
touch! Join us from 9pm Thursday
25 Sept at Vodaworld. i... make my
appearance @ midnight!"

I signed up via Vodacom's website and then again
via their second "VIP registration"

Interesting!

Geez thanks for finally waking up and launching the damn phone. Pity I already bought one from cacell.co.za, returned it, got me a HTC Diamond.

Reminds me of ...

I co-ordinate huge drug trials worth billions of dollars.
I traded my cheap Moto flipphone for the iPhone.
I get dropped calls everywhere I go, be it in downtown SF or
even Cape Town.
Oh how I wish I had my cheap old Moto back.

If the iPhone is anything like the iPod, I won't go near it...

I don't mind the iPod, but as soon as you have that and iTunes (which you basically need) then geez, your PC goes to hell.

90% of my friends who own iPods / iTunes HATE it.

:-O Some serious Apple/iPhone haters here! :-O

Not at all. This is from two highly functioning people from the States
I met up with recently. They both told me that the iPhone 3G was a great
gadget but pretty sub-standard for an actual phone. The one
actually wanted her cheapo Motorola back.

Well coming from an iPhone user I would never want to go back to any other phone. I'm sure there are better phones out there with more features but Apple really got the interface right. Using the Phone is a dream and pretty much kills any other phone's interface.

+ It does everything a Phone should do + a bit more :p

Your mileage may vary but when two world famous researchers tell me that the iPhone
is only mediocre, I tend to agree with them because they're in my profession.
