Cryptocurrency Mining

Thanx

So i checked, and NH incorporated the new XMR-StAK into legacy miner and benchmark with the default settings, it gives me 690h/s. I found the XMR-StAK folder and there are a couple of text files, where should i change this. I found something that looks similar in amd.txt, and AMD_0.txt, where should i change it.

My Rx480 4gig reports about 620h/s on amd-xmr-stak, running old beta mining drivers.
The only modification I have done is copy the 1500 timings into 1700 and 2000 timing (or something like that)

@Gtx Gaming

Want to get my sons a decent gaming PC. He is 10 years old. Rather than buy a console I can mine with it when hre is not gaming.

Proceeds from mining can be used to buy more accessories for the game station.

Any suggestions on what monster PC to get and what to mine with best ROI.

Or entry level will also be fine. Proceeds can later help with upgrade of unit.

Currently do have a rig with 2 x 1070ti and 2 x 1070 mining zcash on nanopool.

Thanx

I would for ryzen 1700 based pc as you mine with cpu also then. Gpu go for anything you find stock off, Rx580 or gtx 1070.

Always wondered about CPU mining. Read recently that unlike GPU's, mining drastically reduces the lifespan of your CPU, and that the yield simply isn't worth it in the short or long term.

Correct cpu will degrade overtime. Ryzen cpu's do decent amount, through il rather add rx550 instead of killing the cpu.

Siacoin mining on GPUs is officially dead

Thinking of selling my S9, its a month old. What will be a fair price?

It's not the best time to be selling mining hardware IMO. Profits are down significantly. That said, you should be able to ask more than you paid in total which I'm guessing is around R40k including shipping, power supply and VAT?

Yep that's correct, idea on selling price?

Right now I would pay 30k for s9 with psu . That's 5 months roi with power costs. Depends what market does really but predictions are hard

With SIA being unmineable at the moment with GPU.
are you guys still duel mining (dcr, pascal...) or you just doing eth mining?
