Cryptocurrency Mining

The L3+ mines LTC right? I'm sure that price will rise

It mines all scrypt. Nicehash handles profitability - it mines the most profitable coin and you are paid out in BTC.
I guess you can do manual if you like. I'm more interested in paying them off.
Profitability for 1x L3+ looks like anywhere from R5-R12k per month depending on the million variables.

By Christmas my L3+ will be a doorstop if LTC doesn't jump in price.

Sabre wulf, did you buy your L3+ miner from bitmain?

How much did it cost + shipping if you don't mind me asking

Yes, $1600 for the miner, $110 for the PSU, $500 for shipping (PSU shipped independently of the miner), add 14% VAT - no other duties.

How much can one make by mining?

My plan is not to buy any cryptocurrency at all. I bought kit to do mining (a single GPU) and use that to generate cryptocurrency which I could convert into other currencies if I want to.

So, if it all tanks, I have lost essentially the electricity that I've put in over the last few months.

Interesting . I was involved with Unisa supercomputer (12 terraflops) few years ago. I was wondering what hardware do you need to do mining. Is there a formula like so many terraflops needed to mine 1 bitcoin? Time needed to mine etc. . And how much income you can generate.
