Also set MSI afterburner to 80 power and 50 core and 500 mem respectfully. Ran benchmarks and let it mine over night. Where can I see if there were any issues or crashes during the night?

I left fan on auto.

With regards to virtual mem, it was automatically set to the recommended amount, should I still go automatically change it to 16GB?

Yes set 16gb min and max.

I even go more normally set at 40gb.

Ok will do. So maybe 40gb min and 40gb max?

Does everything else look good tho? Leave today for 2 weeks so want to get machine as “stable” as possible before then.

Just need to do cable management at the back. Ignore wires and mess in front - that’s keyboard and mouse and monitor cable which will be removed when I put rig in its “forever” home.

Honestly have no idea but it’s in our office and during the day we run the aircon so that will help.

I saw the average temps of the cards were around 70 degrees only so that’s seems good?

I think the general rule is to have it around the 65 degree mark, obviously the lower the better for longevity purposes but they can go up to the lower 80's without short-term damage - but I wouldn't ;)

Mine are set to a 70 degree limit but usually run around 67 for my 1070 and 64 for my two 1050's on an auto fan curve in my hotbox of a room

Airflow is key. See if you can get your hands on a fan and position it in front of it. It will drop your temps.

Below some of my temps if 1080tis and 1070s. Temps on both 1080ti and 1070 rigs barely ever hit 65. No aircon with only a few fans moving air around

I actually build a box with pipes to expell hot air, but that didn't work out to well. Temps were reaching 70+ but kept my backroom cool.

I agree there is no need for a aircon as long as you have good airflow.

Best place for me is in the garage.
I tried a similar setup to build a box for my two rigs and it did not work as the temps in the boxes were too high.
Running my rigs outside the boxes again with one fan on the floor blowing air up towards to rigs works much better and on very hot days I use the two extractor fans to pull hot air out of the garage.

My 580 4G is doing $3.50 currently, dual mining eth/decred at 102W, and $2.70 on cryptonite at 64W. That is R8.40 more per day doing eth/decred at an additional power cost of around R2.20 per day. R6.00 more profit per day.

Might be running none optimized config for cryptoknight, nicehash built in miner is really bad.

Rx580 4gb gets 900-1000hs cryptoknight, nicehash miner gets quite a bit less.

You are also putting more strain on your card by dual mining, which might kill it. RMA time means downtime :P
 
Hi guys - need some advice again.

Looks like my orders for molex risers fell through, only coming in feb/march, which is too late as I'm getting the rig components early Feb.

The only available risers I can seem to find in stock in South Africa are these:

Would it be a problem to use these over the molex as planned?
I see on reddit there's a massive movement to get people to stop using the sata risers, as they melt or burn out.

Alternatively, do you know of any other places that has molex risers in stock?
I had ordered off BitMart, but their site apparently has issues and is showing stock, even though they don't have any.

Edit - Managed to snag some off geewiz, but my above question still holds - do any of you use the pure sata risers and do you have any issues with them?
