Crystalweb is sneaky. My testspeeds show my full line but my Steam downloads are stuck at 36KB/s.. Even a 360P Youtube video buffers every 3 seconds or so! Classy...

There was a throughput problem last night localised to the Southern region for streaming...but other than that things are peachy.

Have you troubleshooted with live chat? Are any other protocols running that slow?

Need much more info to diagnose.

Hi, as per our network notices and the posts just above yours prior to your post, there was an issue with YouTube for a few hours last night that should now be resolved.

There was nothing sneaky happening. We were quite forthcoming that there was an issue and did work hard to resolve it. It was also posted to our Twitter, sent by SMS and email if you've opted in on the website for these notices, and posted on the website in our Help And Extra Info tab where our network notices are publicly displayed.

I'm fairly certain this should no longer be a problem as it was a brief and isolated incident and I'm quite sure you'll find that nothing sneaky was committed on our end at all.

If there is an issue still, then someone on support can assist you as it is not normal and requires investigation...
 
How fail to ignore a publicized outage and rather claim CW being sneaky ......... what a durp. For future reference, if anything is wrong with your CW, all you need to do is jump on support or mention something in this thread and help is all over your arse. That's one thing that is never lacking.

Remember as per my previous advice to test actual downloads and not arbitrary speedtest servers on the device...
 
Yea I'm 95% sure CW will work (already gave notice to Vox) - just want to get final confirmation as to the speeds and if it works :)

Telkom gives 2mbps on my 20mbps line, but I can connect to online game servers
Vox gives 9mbps on my 20mbps line, but I can't connect to online game servers - and no one knows why

Excuse me?!?!? How dare you, I wasnt made aware of ANY "Publicized outages" via email or smses you "durp". I've seen this kinda crap before with Openweb and Mweb too! Saying a line speed is fine but cant do anything. As a paying customer just as you I am offended.

Not sure where I offended you. As mentioned there was an issue last night which as explained is available via numerous avenues for real-time and forum updates and was updated last night prior to your post. We've not done anything underhanded which appears to be the belief you have about something we've apparently done. I'm not quite sure why there is so much anger here but really I'm here to help if you need it and our support have been unable to do so. There are no network issues and you shouldn't have any troubles. If so, as said, we're here to assist from a number of fronts...
 
Very concerned... Just signed up for Crystalweb 4Mb Basic Uncapped. Upgraded my DSL line to 4Mb as well. Streaming from Filmon is now terrible. Constant buffering. I'm using the Filmon free service, which streams in SD. Streaming on my 2Mb line, using WebAfrica Home Uncapped was much better. Speedtest shows download speed of 3.4Mbps, but only after I run it a second time. First test will always show a download speed of less than 1Mbps.

Are there some Crystalweb router settings I need?

Is this working now? Last night's issue in the south is described by DJ here and also on the network incident listing as YouTube related so would it have explained FilmOn issues?

I also had problems last night where my usual Ruya-based streaming was constantly going into slow-mo, buffering and freezing so I tried dropping down to SD Ruya streams and also free FilmOn as well which is my backup option. Everything I tried was the same (buffer, freeze, slow-mo, frame-drops) even though speedtest was showing me getting a consistent 3.45Mbps download speed on my 4Mbps premium uncapped account. It wasn't possible to contact support because it was 1:00am. If the problem persists then I suppose I need to take time out during the day to test and report when support is online. I did also try Google DNS servers.

The response wasnt aimed at you... Anyway my steam account on my app still shows my downloads are STILL dead slow. A 2GB DLC has barely budged since I left for work this morning. I think you guys intentionally kept me throttled even though it is a new month already.
 
We don't employ throttling but if you're a very heavy user on uncapped shaping will be applied first to your account before others which is the fair manner in which to do this. If you PM me your details I can have a look for you and get concrete information instead as there is no way to know who you are based on your forum name...

Seriously? I think you need to take off your tinfoil hat, remove that chip from your shoulder and get on to live support so they can help you identify whatever problem you are experiencing, bitching in this thread with your attitude isn't going to solve the problem
