Just lost connection now. All my lights are on, except the internet light on my modem.

Anybody know why i can't seem to get into my router? Wifi light is on, but I can't get into it, to see if I can enter my credentials etc

Internet connectivity shouldn't mess with accessing your router. Have you tried switching it off and on again?

Just got back in again... Switched to my AH account and connected again. CW was down for me, but looks like it's back up again

Saturday I went to a website which asked for my location and when I captured cape town it said the location never matched my isp. not had this problem before. it seemed to have fixed itself. guessing this was when cw switched servers. my internet died Sunday evening when I tried after midnight. it's been dead since. chatted twice to cw and they say they are having a router problem. I sometimes have an internet connection but mostly not. when I have the connection the error message is dsn not working. cw told me I am not the only one having problems. ironically it's exactly a year I joined cw after headaches with mweb. maybe time to consider a new isp

weird. I couldn't get into my router either. the pw is admin lol. only could get in the following day. but it would not let me change the dsn cw gave me as an alternative and kept defaulting to the original fan address. currently using my neighbours Wi-Fi for my phone.

Again lost connectivity, and again had to toggle between 2.4ghz and 5ghz just so I could get into the router. Anybody know what might be going on?

contacted them. they said most of the issue is fixed except cape town. must change dns to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
My router won't update with new dns so paying a specialist to sort that out. not waiting however many days for cw to fix their ct problems

Looks like the attack has shifted to client addresses.
My firewall got 200GB of traffic between 8 last night and this morning, and only passed about 5 to my internal network...

chatted with them now. they don't want to say much other than it will be fixed by cob. which I don't believe. must be dome serious problems with their infrastructure. they are doing an mweb and not being transparent. I think they dropped their chat support with me. either deliberately or a technical problem on their side. being transparent would build customer loyalty.

I was only able to download 1.6GB between 12am and 6am on a 4Mbps Uncapped home premium account.

Not impressed at this stage with their performance. Guess I am gone at the end of the month.

Is the link to the cancellation form on the FAQ page the only way to cancel the subscription?

My issue turned out to be quite interesting. Apart from having to change DNS to Google DNS servers. When my fiber was installed last year, I used my notebook to connect to the CPE, which registered its MAC address. I released the notebook MAC address, and since then the MAC address from the router was being used - with zero issues. When CW switched me to the EvoNet network the past weekend, my connection went dead. After a lot of swearing and trial and error, managed to get it working again by cloning my notebook MAC address to my router. No amount of releasing the IP from the router, or switching it off/on for long periods would make it work with the MAC address it's been using for months. The only MAC address that works is the one from my notebook.

Yes the Mac needs to be removed from the dhcp server by vumatel. Only one mac/ip per port...

Chat support drops after 30 minutes of inactivity. I kept typing "..." every 10 minutes to eventually get some help on Monday. At the moment, their support is a nightmare. I asked to speak to someone senior, and was told that *all* of their senior people are trying to solve the issues they're having.

Yeah, I figured. But it worked for how long with the actual router MAC address and the CW support agent at some point did (or requested) a new IP address. Clearly that also didn't work.

I also couldn't clear my router to the Google dns.
there is good news. cw connection and internet was back up this evening. not as good as before the incident but about 90% as good. hope they keep it working. still using the original dns.
They chat support advised me not to call my techie to fix the dns change at a thousand rand a pop. I thought that was a kind and human touch. he said they would have it up today and they. interesting to see how they go from here but for now I think I will stick with them :)

my chat dropped within 5 mins. might have been my neighbours Wi-Fi connection. I restarted the chat and the same support person picked up and remembered me. I think they all got a big fright than last few days. hope they stabilise and can go from strength to strength.
