Crystal Web DSL performance feedback thread Part 4...

Months later they still route CPT traffic via JHB. + no eta and unending excuses. They make it sound like we should feel sorry for them yet they charge 100% fee at premium rate.

Yeah I have my doubts that they will resolve the CPT routing issue any time soon (like, before the 19th).

I find it funny that the shoe is on the other foot now. Instead of people deciding to cancel by the 19th, it is now a deadline for CW to sort out their service and hope to retain clients. Personally, I will enjoy paying less than half of what I was giving CW for a "premium" service.

I went with CW based on feedback on this forum. Been with them about a year and other than the occasional issue, I have little to complain about. I am in Jhb on Vumatel with 100/100 uncapped and my speeds are close to that normally.

That said, I do seem to have a fair bit of latency and jitter on local game servers so have decided to explore other options. Will be keen to see if there is a difference in the future and will post some feedback in a few weeks.

There. I finally put in my cancellation with Crystal Web. I've been putting it off and I wanted to see how Web Africa performed before making the cancellation official.

Crystal Web have always had their problems as a company, but their internet connection performance was excellent in the beginning. Now it's still a terrible company, and performance is down the drain. No point paying a premium for sub-par service from a sub-par company.

Gah, have to redo my card and account and had to rescind the cancellation for one more month ......

I've removed my CW login details from my router about a week ago and replaced it with one of the backup accounts.
Since then nobody that routes via Cape Town sounded convinced that things were great again, so I canceled.

My new ISP will be R130 less per month and with the current promotion, my next 2 months are free, so it just make sense for me to change at this stage.

So whose staying?

Could make a thread " I left CW " ?

Been on a CISP backup account for about two weeks now and I am not regretting it.

In retrospective I should have have left when the Actual Crystal Web was no more.

Sad but true...

About 14 more days to go and then the tribe has spoken.

Who is your new ISP? I know not the place to discuss but keen to know

So I'm on a 150gb+uncapped from 00:00-1800. Had this account for years. Does any other ISP offer a similar deal?

For those that tendered their cancelation before the 19th, did you receive a cancelation confirmation for month end?

I did not receive the email to indicate that my cancelation request has been received when I completed the web form, but support indicated that it has been received. I was told that I would receive an email on the 19th, but that was over the weekend, so not sure if that played a role.

I got two emails from podio indicating the cancellation process. Last one effective 31 May 2018.

I switched to the cw network yesterday, just to see what happens. It started out OK, but by early evening it was very slow. After switching to my backup account, "(read as new improved capped main account)", everything got better.

I am very disappointed about how things turned out, but maybe it is for the better. I pay now more than half less than what I used too, for same amount of usage.
