Crystal Web DSL performance feedback thread Part 4...

I suggest you reply back to them appropriately but ask them one simple question. That is to provide you with the proof of what type of service licence they have from ICASA and the details of that licence registration.
As a new service provider it should be either a I-ECNS, or, I-ECS or both.

QFE. Anyone receiving that mail needs to ask them to prove that they have the proper licence. If they do not, then they're using the licence of an upstream service provider.

Then it should be a case of them being able to give that up streams licence details and back it up with a reseller agreement entered into between them and the upstream provider.

Well to add to my problem. My line was Cancelled twice. But nobody can track who put in the cancellation. Then to top it all off my line has been dead for 7 days. Telkom says it will cost me R310 odd for a techy to come out and check my line. I tell the sakes send him out get the line running. Crystal Web really screwd the pooch for everyone. Even Afrihost can't pick up the line. So i have place an order for new line. Which should be "running" by 30 or 1st Dec.

My line is still running. I dont have a ****ing clue where the line is at the moment as well. I suppose if my line is running, ill just continue as is. Saves me line money

I'm in the same position. I would like to get it sorted out so it doesn't get randomly cut and I'm without internet the whole of december, but at the same time I don't want to rock the boat in case it gets cut and I'm without internet the whole of december...

For info:

Interesting that on speedtest using my Vox data account, im getting download speeds of well over 16mbps.

I tried Afrihost, Axxess and CW accounts. Strange issue. Seems to be limited to a tenth of speed. Router sync is normal.

My 100Mbit OS line with CW since yesterday, pin 222ms, download 8Mbit. May well be time to throw OS & CW out and go with VUMA who are also useless, just less useless than OS

Adsl resurrection part 5
Check your SNR and Attenuation values. The last time my ADSL refused to auth, but was syncing, my SNR was very low because I was forcing it to sync at a higher speed. As soon as I let the router auto negotiate the SNR went up and I could auth again. It did result in a further speed drop though.

There have been general Internet issues in the last few days. This morning, all mobile services were extremely poor in my area, falling back to Edge at times and no access at all.
So, be circumspect about drawing conclusions too early after a move to another ISP. wait for the electrons to settle a bit

Not a good time to draw conclusions like this because, while OS might be the FTTH network you are on, we have no idea how Evonet/CW are now providing backbone access.

Tomorrow is the 1st December.... My line is still not in the holding pool. Wasnt charged for November, not charged for December.

My line is still running.

At this rate, i might as well just continue as is, and save the money. But right now, i have no service provider in terms of my dsl line lol

Afrihost gave me a call earlier saying they were sending a list of all CrystalWeb numbers which need to moved to them to OpenServe today, and wanted to know if I wanted to add my line to the list. So it sounds like Afrihost and OpenServe have a plan worked out between them. Glad to see at least one ISP is trying to make peoples lives easier.

That's why they deserve my money!

Are you sure your line is not at EN, maybe you were a unique one!
Just like one of the Telkom Agents asked me, if there is no service provider , how can your internet be connected?
