Crystal Web DSL performance feedback thread Part 4...

@Bryn

Has your service improved at all?

My service has always been fine. By fine I mean speed test results are normal (as per my sig, 94Mbps) but downloads generally don't go faster than 6MB/s and Twitch can't stream 1080p to save its life.

Based on my experiences with other ISP accounts, I'm inclined to believe that the issue is with the quality of my line. Afrihost and a test account for this new DigiScene ISP both had the same poor performance for Twitch, and torrents were significantly worse.

Have you tried a test account from another ISP, eg. AH?

don't have to... telkom drops my sync to 7, i complain, it takes about 2 months, then it syncs at 10. then it works fine for about a year, then the line has intermittent issues, and they drop the sync, or there is no issue at all at 10 (2 out of the 3 times i've went through this exercise) and then they just drop it to 7 because no reason at all, rinse repeat

According to latest update KZN folks should see results tomorrow.

Guateng and Western Cape still undergoing work. Updates to follow.

Sounds similar to me, except my synch dropped back to 6mb/s after less than a week.

Looking much better locally.

Notification that work in Gauteng and Western Cape is ongoing tonight.
So there is a chance I will be able to play CS:GO on CW again...

Torrents are permanently limited to 200kb\s~ for me at any time of the day and have been for the past week. Such BS, the only thing i can actually get full speed on are some website links and steam. Switch to trial account and its full speed on torrents.

getting spikes of packet loss, lasts a minute or 2 then goes away for 30mins before doing it again

Kwa-Zulu Natal work is complete and fully operational. Gauteng and Western Cape work remains on-going due to unforeseen circumstances. We continue to work with the supplier over the weekend to resolve.

So is it only limited people that get emails as well? Still have no idea what my usage is like
