Crystal Web DSL performance feedback thread Part 4...

Why are you stuck with them for 6 more weeks? Surely a cancellation now means you are done with them by month end??

Terms:
Note that as per Crystal Web's terms of use, a cancellation may not be processed if an outstanding balance remains on your account due to Crystal Web for any services from any date. Same-month cancellations must be submitted before the 19th of each month.

Today's date: 19th of June 2017.

EDIT: I think Afrihost was 20th or 23rd now as well, 25th is only upgrade/downgrade.

Today is the cut-off for cancellations
Nope....i submitted today and got a screen pop up about t&c saying submit by the 18th as billing runs on the 19th. Wish I screenshot it.

One thing I found arrogant is that cancellations approval subject to billing dept authorization. If you have outstanding debt they won't cancel. So that means pay in full or your gonna rack up a tidy bill over months.

This is why I will NEVER ever sign up with an ISP with a debit order. They can come get outstanding money from the crack of my ass (no reference here to crackersa). :D

Anyway, pity in this day and age, we still have such archaic nonsense like having to cancel x amount of time beforehand. Even with the insurance industry which are the biggest sharks of all, it is your RIGHT to cancel even on the last day of the month. Sure the debit order run may still go through, but they are obliged by law to refund you within 7 days. The ISPs are taking the piss with these asinine notice periods. THIS IS A PRE-PAID SERVICE.

My only real complaint is the news servers. They're so slow I don't know why they're even offered. Never goes faster than 6Mbps for me. I think I'll just pay for a proper premium server.

Edit: Just bought a premium unlimited Newshosting account and I'm not getting more than 500KB/s. Sigh. Off to live chat I go. CW clearly shaping news to death.

There's very obviously a problem for PE and PTA guys like there was a problem a month or two back for us KZN guys. Seems to a few different ISP's area by area affected (us was CW, WA and AH but Mweb was fine). The root cause needs to be nailed down and fixed because customers are just getting more and more fed up, especially the PE and PTA guys coz it's just going on and on :(

Outside of the affected area, CW is great but I do get where you guys are coming from.

Well I spoke to Support Warrior now and he said he would look into it, so fear not.

I'm in Centurion, and could not game for the past 2 evenings. So it is not only PE.

I see the CW Management account hasn't been online since the 14th. So much for that increased visibility and offer to escalate things via PM mentioned a few pages back.

Please make sure though, that your debit order details are correct so they can deduct the full monthly subscription amount in time. If you pay via EFT, please make sure your payment reflects on the first of the month in full. Thanks.
