I think it's to make diagnosing client-side faults easier. Speedtests should never be used as a real world test because they simply aren't.

When speedtest starts full Speed then drops you see sharping it was related to the download speed

This bursting is to make web browsing smooth as loading a page is generally a short burst of traffic, while under some form of throttling.
 
I also have huge problems with CW lately. I have the 250GB capped account, but my download speeds are abysmal for about 2 weeks now. Its only approx 150kb to 200kb on a 10mbit line that however syncs in the meantime at 12mbit.
I have an ASUS modem that has nice build in stats and one can easy see that there is a "glass ceiling" for the download speed.
However it seems that only torrents are affected; I can stream from youtube in HD and then the glass ceiling in the router stats is immediately broken.
 
Live chat yes. It seems you have to ask specifically. This lack of communication is disturbing - Ive moved on to another ISP.

Which one, in your view, is better than CW? I moved away from ****ty AH, now considering doing the same from CW. They say I'm not being deprioritised, but I'm calling BS as my streaming has taken a serious dip.
 
I still don't understand the huge price disparity between the 250GB capped on the normal ADSL accounts and the OpenServe fiber when they're the same product.
DSL norm: R379: https://crystalweb.co.za/product-home-capped.html
OpS price: About R599: https://crystalweb.co.za/product-ftth-openserve-capped.html (Total 250GB + 20Mbps = R1099)

Just taking the 10Mbps bundle option on both and comparing the price difference. I think it would be cheaper to get the 250GB account and then get the line from Telkom, https://mybroadband.co.za/news/fibre/164410-this-is-what-a-telkom-fibre-line-costs-on-its-own.html , can upgrade from 20Mbps to 40Mbps (R699) instead and it will turn out cheaper.

Good day all well i got a CrystalWeb capped account 150gig and works fine till 7.30pm for 10pm then it goes for crap for gaming
on CSGO so did abit of checking and it seems the cdsl1-ctn-vl2376-ipc.ip.isnet.net is a real problem from the time noted the ping
goes over 300ms every damm night and thats to JHB on Billisoft servers. Crystalweb should contact Isnet and fix the problem. O forgot we out in Somerset West think im gonna try a Telkom caped account and see if it is better ?

I am experiencing the same. I am happy with my CW account, except for the evening 7pm to about 11pm. Then I cannot game on it and need to use an alternative ISP.
 
I loaded pingplotter and ran a few traces to all the servers even now its up to crap ? What do we do email Crystal Web with the tracerts and pray they fix it or are we stuffed ?lol
 
I can't game on CW either. Tried last night and got constant ping spikes of up to 2000ms. Switched to AH and all is fine...
 
Well like i stated CW use isnet.net network for the routing and from Somerset it sucks.Funny thing its one Ip addy thats the problem
196.38.72.206 even now its jumping around 200+ ms with jitter avg 30+ . Is that guy still online from CW ? all they gotta do is check and fix the damm thing.
 
CW news server down for anyone else as well?

NVM, it's working again. Login kept failing
