Crystal Web DSL performance feedback thread Part 4...

On a power bank? That would be impressive ;)

I'm sure those Android devices you use are a bit more useful than just charging your iPad via OTG :crylaugh:

But in all seriousness, I'm out... before bwana throws another infraction my way.

//back to the CISP thread I go

Yup. Even the non-intro prices are comparable to offerings from other ISPs though.

The capped packages? No, they're at more than R1.5/gig, Vox is about 80c, Afrihost R1.1, don't think they are comparable in those cases.
Crystal Web used to be great, they were worth the premium, wouldn't say it's been so for quite a while though.

why is Vumatel install. fee on CW website R999 when it should be R1710?

An Incident Update Has Been Posted
EvoNet clients continue to be the subject of a continued DDoS attack and engineers continue to work against the attackers on behalf of all clients. An upgrade to our Threat Management System will be deployed tonight at 11pm to streamline a more automated process for our mitigation systems. This will result in up to 10min downtime for some clients during this time with impact varying from loss of connectivity to loss of connectivity to certain services.

Why wait til 23:00 if it's unusable at the moment anyway? Got nothing to lose doing it now.

I'm actually quite worried that CW will be irrevocably damaged by this - been a brilliant ISP for me up until this latest debacle.

I would really not like to be forced to shift to another ISP

I'm also fortunate that I have a solid backup Vox account with a TB of rollover data - others may not be as fortunately

Can't even buy Vox data, as its a recurring payment which is not even supported by Capitec, and the debit order option just hangs.

Had to do the travesty of going Afrihost just to be able to use internet.

Buy a f****cking Arbor device............or move back to IS who bought them so you as an ISP and reseller DOESNT have to........there is a reason they cost 10 million...........they work.........so pick a backbone provider that has one.

Aren't you grandfathered in at an intro price?
Actually all of us (clearly except "a few") pay the standard rates. We were told originally because we were part of the original first few we would continue paying the introductory price indefinitely and then at some point they simply put everyone up to the normal price saying it was part of the upgrade of their accounting etc. So it's telling to me that Sinbad is still paying a lower price and Shaun was simply BS'ing the rest of us.

Afaik all the vumatel early adopters pay the same.
I'm not talking about the first launch prices for adsl. Those ended for everyone including me when I was an adsl customer.

Iirc I was paying about 1100pm for uncapped 10mb when I canceled my adsl line and account

Can't comment on vumatel as I'm referring to ADSL. It just grates me when people say one thing and when it becomes convenient for them they change their tune(not you obviously).

Clearly their billing system is confusing according to the portal.

Is there a way to determine the usage on CW? The setup in the control panel does not lool accurate.

JITTER 159
Download: 0.3
And this is on a 20/20 fibre line. Cannot game like this. When the speed drops to 0.3 FPS is done. I am done. Will move over to an ISP that works.
