Crystal Web DSL performance feedback thread Part 4...

Holding pool request is in... line will go back to Telkom.

On a side note, I’ve not had any issues with their data. I stream in 1080p with no buffering etc. I’m also on a good package ie the open time package, which is great.
Cos half the clients are still disconnected?

Ironically I'm back online but my line is now completely FUBAR. Massive latency to the exchange, packet loss all over the place. Literally only just started once it came back online - never had this before Friday.

Nah not that. Even before the acquisition by Evonet, when my line was with Telkom, I had no issues with their data as well as Afrihost. But never the less, best to move my line back to Telkom/Openserve.

Lucky my ADSL is under my own name at Telkom. So I did not have these suspension issues. What I do have is sporadic latency issues and dropped packets all over the show.

These people are a joke. I am just holding on until Frogfoot is done in my hood. ETA is about April 2019.

That’s the one thing I’m waiting for as well. If Fibre ever comes to my area, I’ll be done as well.

I’m quite intrigued though, as to why CW sold to Evonet. Besides money i suppose, what else. Why also continue under the CW name etc, why hasn’t everything changed to Evonet ?

CW sold the customer base and dsl business.
CW itself will continue doing other stuff (no I don't know what)

Aah okay cool. Oh well, it was good while it lasted. Now to wait while my line gets moved to the holding pool.

Mine took 2 and a half months, granted they didn't bill me for the last of those, but when it finally went through, it resulted in a cancellation instead of a migration.

Oh hell no, let’s not go there lol I’ve had enough nonsense to deal with this last week

Does Telkom offer up to 20MB ADSL lines? If not, I guess I can't migrate my line back #****

CW goes from Cybersmart, to Internet Solutions, to trying their own network through Frogfoot, and now back to Internet Solutions. What a joke, and I wonder what happens to their IPv4 space... Guess I need to update my post on ISP networks

Also, didn't CW claim to be the first commercial ISP to use the SACS cable? How can they claim that if they're back to reselling IS?

Well my latency in WoW EU went from 220 to 150 after the EvoNet thing, so I'm not sure how their routing works now but it's not bad.
Except yesterday, it was absolutely horrible yesterday. 1000+ms latency, packet loss all over.

Post a trace to the WoW server, and let's see the route?

Out of interest sake, didn’t they have their best times when they with IS? When they moved on from IS and Evonet, that’s when things just started to hit the fan
