Crystal Web DSL performance feedback thread Part 4...

By "my control" I mean I pay for the line and have to log calls with Telkom and fight with Telkom when there is a problem. Right now being in CW/Evo hands we have the current problem... :/
 
Maybe I should try the same thing. How do I do this?
My initial request was to cancel my account and to move my line to holding pool - i did that before cutoff date 19th of the month.
I couldn't decide on a new ISP so i decided to stay with CW seeing that my line was functioning good after being dead for 2 weeks, so I got on chat with agent on last day of October, agent said I must send a mail to to [email protected] and ask to "rescind" the cancellation...
Also there is a link in one of the CW mails titled "How to cancel your Crystal Web cancellation at any point" that allows you to do this. It's a unique link so i cant post it here...The mail was sent whenever you requested a cancellation!

I used both methods, just to be sure.

I've gotten a notification from ICASA that someone is looking at my complaint and that they're forwarded it along to CW.

In the mean time, with no internet, I've resorted to ordering LTE....

Yeah I decided to rather not rescind my cancellation. I rather ordered a new line from Telkom. I too am longing for the greatness of fiber.
 
Yeah still no connection here either and the assholes at CW/Evonet don't seem to think any communication on the matter is necessary from them. It boggles my mind that they are happy to just leave everyone in the dark.
 
Other than all of this...my line performs well, so I thought i'd stay a while longer with them incase migrating the line now causes issues. Overally, CW gave me the best connectivity for years compared to MWEB and AH.
Won't be long with CW though, VUMATEL is in our area, fiber has been laid down and they bringing it to the homes now. Now to look at fiber providers...

I need copies of the emails that Evonet and CW has sent out recently, particularly ones regarding the Evonet merger and the account changes. Also, any emails that detailed the DDoS mitigations from earlier this year. In fact, just about everything concerning major events in 2018.

If you've kept them, please send them along to fickwesley (at) gmail (dot) com.

EDIT: Additionally, anyone who has received statements in the past few months that do not show line rental being charged, please email me details of how long this has been going on for your account. If you're willing, please also share copies of your statements. Any personal information will be kept confidential, and ultimately redacted if the statements are used.

Oh, NAG? never knew NAG was still a thing...It used to be "our" enemy back in the days of PCF forums.

So still down here without any communication from Evonet.
Wow! Thats terrible! Are you even able to make voice calls? Have you tried getting that fixed by telkom? it usually fixes the ADSL portion! That's really insane to be offline for more than a month...

After i gave Telkom a call, things have been up and running without any disconnects etc

To be that long down doesn't sound right though, as those who were down that i know of, are back up again

I was up and running for a week. Then I was disconnected again and now I cant get any response or help from Telkom, Crystal Web Openserve. I canceled my line with Crystal before the 16th. So now I am in limbo nobody can give me any honest answers. Telkom and Open say speak to Crystal. Crystal says speak to Open or Evo. Telkom wont force my line release so now I sit. I lodge mt complaint with ICASA and have taken to social media as well in the hopes somebody will do something

Ah the good old days... :)

I for one can't wait to read that write up. Hope like anything it answers all our questions and provides clarity on the future because right now it is a pretty bleak place to be in... :(
 
So update on my ICASA complaint.

Telkom just emailed me saying that they are attending to the issue and feedback will be provided when available. So I am taking that as a positive step forward...

This is just an update to inform that we are still awaiting feedback from management, regarding requests of the invoicing of the telkom lines and downtime credits.
This ticket will remain open till resolved.

Just got this from Crystal I think this was just sent to try and shut me up as for the last 39 days I have been send info update request emails to all address I have.

See if you can apply for a new line with Telkom.

I tried they said they cant give me a new or additional line if I already have one. I would have to have another line installed to have net access again

Which means I would have to pay for 2 voice lines

Um no... Cancel your existing voice line then. And restart the process, then cancel your dsl line with CW. You dont have to have 2 lines
