Crystal Web DSL performance feedback thread Part 4...

I'm now thinking of cancelling Telkom voice, 20 Mbps VDSL and data portion.

Off topic - apologies!
Then go CellC LTE via Afrihost 200GB package with my existing RAIN 25GB package as backup.
Someone want to talk me out of it?
Long given up trying to convince anyone that wireless connections in a fixed location is just plain stupid and costly.

But no one wants to give me my line back... Line in limbo. I agree but may not have a choice.. But thanks!

I'm so confused now. When this sh*tstorm hit. I went to my local telkom store and ask them to activate my line, 3 days later and bang, was connected again.

So where is my line now? Holding pool, CW, evonet or telkom?

Same question I asked earlier. I have no idea who has it, or who i need to pay.

The only way out of this nightmare is getting another ISP to take ownership of the line, unfortunately. If anyone is in the motions of doing that, you need to specify to your ISP that you're an ex-CW customer, and that they need to contact Openserve directly because this is a special case.

If it is in the holding pool, no one has it. It will stay there until you choose an ISP and that ISP takes over the line based on the paperwork being completed presumably, or you opt to get Telkom to provide you with an ADSL service.
Those appear to be the two choices open to you.
Evonet does not have either a C-ECNS or a C-ECS license nor are they listed as having a I-ECNS or I-ECS licence.(Checked the ICASA website and did not find Evonet listed).
So right now, they at best can resell another licensed operator's service. They cannot claim to be an ISP, so they can't pick up a line in their name.
So, if they don't sort out the issues between themselves and CW, they are dead in the water. (CW is listed as having a C-ECS licence, presumably issued before 14 May 2014, valid for 10 years which allow national service provision).
Note, new service providers wanting to go national, must in theory anyway, be in possession of an I-ECS licence for services, and if building networks, an I-ECNS licence.

It would be very helpful if you explain how a CW customer, service suspended line, in theory moved into the holding pool, could appear in another ISPs system at the same time.

Afrihost keep the number in their billing system. Even after moving away from them. So if you want to move back to them the number show up as already in use. Afrihost have to do a manual process to activate the line.

Thank you, I will look into it right away.

If you signed up with us previously, the number would be in our database, alternatively, the previous line owner may have been a client of ours.

Telkom is lost...
Billing says line is active, i must contact Technical.
Technical says line is suspended , i must contact Billing.
Billing says Voice is active, no internet account.

So, do you indeed have an active fixed telephone service?
Telkom is not lost, just showing the incompetence of the persons who handled your first and second query.
And, were you previously with AH?

telkom says line is ready to be moved...

AH says...

"Checks failed
Unfeasible, due to a pending order on the line
Not Feasible. Other ADSL operator active.
Line is suspended
Not Feasible. Current product is: and is not associated with WSDSL. "

Thank you, I will look into it right away.

Thanks for the explanation.
However, I hope Afrihost now see how your systems and processes could be improved?
ISO, a response that says the line is already in the system, it could have been:
"Good day Mr RiD1. I see you were previously a customer of AH, and cancelled your services on........
Would you like me to re activated your service? If so, it requires a manual intervention. Here is your reference number. A specialist will contact you shortly.

Or, I see this line was previously registered to another Customer. A manual activation is required if you would like to activate a service on this line.

Sounds too "hello peter'ish", I prefer the normal human talk they already have.!

I think you going to cause another layer of problems if you keep dealing with two entities. Pick one, either Telkom or AH and stick to your decision.
AH have offered and you have provided info. Let that process now complete.

That is because you are a techie and want the raw data. Problem is you might not interpret the poor spelling, grammar and techie gibberish correctly and draw the wrong conclusion as a result.
