No, because on my latest invoice from EVONET, Im only billed for data. No dsl line
 
Been watching this debacle from the side lines and I feel for you guys... I left CW over two years ago to get the uncapped lte package telkom were offering at the time and I ummed and ahhed for at least 2 months if I was doing the right thing and in hindsight it was... It's such a pity that such a promising entity has imploded like this.
 
Absolutely. I was also sitting on the fence. I asked for and got a test account which I used for only three days when the first security attack leaked all our details. After a few emails with Shaun about this matter (before he got himself into trouble on this forum), and with Lawrence, I opted out and stayed where I was with Telkom.
I was not at all happy with what I found out and got an uncomfortable feeling about CW, which I mostly kept to myself. (Discussed some of the issues with a few on the forum and Lawrence).
That was it. I am very glad that I did not ignore what my gut was telling me.
It was almost too good to be true.

So in essence, I have been quietly monitoring the CW threads ever since, getting more concerned as time passed. Until now. There is something about ruthless financial guys when it comes to pulling the plug. Telecommunications in whatever form you can think of is a long term commitment (25 - 50 years), and I just got the feeling that the endurance levels where just not there.
 
My old password is still visible on the leak.
Im pretty sure that someone found it last week and contacted me, using my own email adress to send it to me, that they hacked me and are threatening to forward a list of all sites i visit, and also webcam pics of what i was doing to myself while visiting those sites.. Unless i pay x amount of bitcoins to him within 3 days.

I dont have webcam.

Meh, if they want to extort me I will link them to my Pornhub profile for some extra monetisation.
 
I'm back up and running although at a reduced speed. Supposed to be an 8Mb line but currently syncing at 7027 Kbps with 29.0 dB Line attenuation and 7.4 dB SNR. I have had much better stats than this so I'm going to contact Telkom on Monday and upgrade to the uncapped 10MB package on a a month to month basis.

I will take them to ICASA, ISPA Etc if they should pull a stunt like that. The fact that my line is showing as suspended on their side, shows how incompetent they are right now

ISPA can't do anything about them as they're not an ISPA member... I already tried this a while ago unfortunately.

Damn that sucks.. Im still not in the holding pool yet either. Still running, for how long i have no clue. Really amateur bunch at Evonet

What I find interesting is that I explicitly asked to be moved to the holding pool on the 16th October, but still haven't been moved as my line is still active. Yet people who didn't ask to be moved were moved.

Im just continuing as normal now. If it goes it goes, then ill hop onto a call and re apply for the line. Painful as that is, it will be a relief to be gone from these clowns now

A symptom of poor record keeping and broken databases. And no process to interrogate, generate exception reports and analyse them.
