Will these new fixes have a FUP attached?
Will these new fixes have a FUP attached?![]()
Hulu is officially dead over here.
What have you guys gone and done now?
as long as you don't pull an OpenWEB on us and "only user on the network" is considered heavy loadp2p and nntp downloads will be shaped during the day and released in the evening, but we really do encourage and actually implore our customers to schedule these large downloads instead - it really does help with network management to ensure that we can give you the best possible experience on everything else during the day and early evening.
There are however no more rolling windows and p2p and nntp is no longer shaped based on overall usage but on network load. So it's good news on that front.
We're currently seeing one or two minor issues crop up here and there that's being worked on: http downloads and Steam are throwing some erratic results our way, but will stabilise over the course of the next few days as we pinpoint the exact problems and roll out fixes.
But there's no new thresholds or anything to worry about on the new system. We may at some point introduce a threshold mechanism, but we'll always be fair about it, ensure that there are proper alternatives, and ensure that as few users are affected as possible. IF we ever introduce such thresholds, that's our policy.
If you're experiencing issues, please follow the steps in our email. Best bet is to power-cycle your router for ten minutes and all should be golden thereafter. Real-time services like Hulu are prioritised and in our tests are working as before.
I got it, thanks.
I'm not on the Ip range yet so I'll keep checking.
Does the IP change automatically? Or does a reboot need to be done in order for it to change?
Do we still have to power cycle if we dont even have CW on our router atm(playing diablo 3 ^^)You will need to reboot. We should have been clearer in the mail, but I'd suggest not rebooting every few minutes. Rather check as and when you have a chance - the process of rolling this out is not something that can nor should be quick.

I'm not understanding.
Is their a queue or not?
Should I try now or wait until later?
question answered.from email said:Please check your IP address to see if you are on the new IP range (41.177.xxx.xx). If not, please hold tight, your transition will be processed in a queuing system.

Yeah I was wondering how my IP would change without that happening! BRB, rebooting router xD
