We've completed everything on our side, and the final installation and testing is underway. The latest update we had from the teams (yes, 3 other companies involved in getting this sorted) is that it should be sorted for Gauteng users by tomorrow.

We are now as anxious as you are. We've done our part, and our partners and suppliers are doing theirs, and I can only relay their latest updates to you all. Latest is that we're on track for 1 August resolution. Whether this happens at midnight or by midnight or not I cannot be sure, and nor can they.

What about Durban users?

Yussie.. you want to drop that kind of crown on an AWE64 for a Gaming PC?!?!?1 Are you mad bro?

Why? What do you suggest? It's 16-bit Stereo and 100% SB/SB16 compatible with wavetable synth. May not have the best FM Synth, but very good compatibility.

The SB Pro is high end enough... I would rather spend the extra money on a better Graphics card, Something like a Geforce2 or Geforce3

I did mention Geforce 2 as being a very good choice. Anything beyond that and you lose a significant amount of compatibility. Radeon cards are CRAP for DOS btw. :p

SB Pro is a horrible choice for use within Windows 9x. Pretty cool If you only want it for DOS or Win3x though. ;)

Thanks. The loading time for my previous ISP's website (yuck) went from over 2 minutes with IS and no downloads -- to just under 7 seconds on CW account with downloads.

I'm concerned that you're browsing other ISP's websites. We'll have ours up and running soon for you to play with. :D

No real games need Windows 9x to run :p

not true Red Alert required Windows 95 to run properly (the decent graphics)

A friend of mine who was dead against Windows 95 (said it would be another OS/2) eventually bought Windows 95 in 1997 to play Red Alert. He changed shell in win.ini to nc.exe

They were merely lying to all of you...

All these games would run perfectly in DOS.. DOS is the best OS ever created. All Hail DOS!

**EDIT**
Oh, and my connection is still running great atm... am interested to see if anything changes tomorrow.

If you're not sarcastic, that is :p

But yeah, DOS was simple. Until you hit the 640k barrier. :p

So are we - and the trusty support staff to carry the graveyard shift have checked in and will be briefed to expect feedback and management is on standby to monitor this.

Have the graveyard shift been told to expect gnashing of teeth and such from clients and potentially flaying of skin from management if the fsck up? :D

Hi

Pardon me, CW, i switched over to your backbone from IS a few minutes ago in preparation for the cutoff tonight, then ran a few tests and all I can say is, the performance is not nearly up to par with IS unfortunately. Sorry !:erm:

It's not poor, but certainly not as good as when I am on IS.

Example : on IS - netflix streams to HD within 30 seconds - 1 min max, on CW - it just took 8min 27sec to get to HD quality, and no, it's not my side, the IS account proved this already. So I know my connection is capable of much better.

So what now....?

Anyone else in the Eeastern Cape that is able to compare performance if you are currently using an IS temp account ?

EDIT: Another example - this Youtube video - buffers like hell on 480p - ag nee man !#$#T$^#$^
