I'm very happy with my account. I actually contacted support to make sure if I'm actually shaped. Apparently I was supposed to get a mail to tell me that the account is being shaped, but I never got it.

@Paul or Shuan. I have asked this recently, but got no reply. Any news on the Mikrotik deals?

Nothing heard from support...

Email support seems to be non-existant. I haven't received a reply since Friday - Still waiting for my first invoice (I am now over the 3 days to pay, but I don't know who to pay...)

The live chat works pretty well, but no "paper" trail.

Terms and conditions are missing from the new site. You should add that the accounts are locked to a phone line.

also awaiting instructions on how/who to pay... also emailed with no response

Man, a 4mbps shaped uncapped account WITH 100GB unshaped data and people still complain? MAN. This is so messed up.

What if one only wants the 100GB unshaped data and nothing else? Shop elsewhere :/

Feedback on the Support portal:

Chat Transcript are being cut off - all of the chats longer than 10cm gets snipped and it then doesn't make sense what is the issue.

CW I have question, tried live chat but it it didn't work.
So when my unshaped data runs out I will be moved to a shaped profile, how will that affect WTFast ?

you probably dont need WTFast on CW

Yes, that's all good, except in 1 years time (when Paul and Shaun are driving Ferraris), there will be a whole lot of new users who haven't read this thread, and won't give it a second thought. There should be some motivation to do downloads in off-peak times (while un-shaped). As I've mentioned before, perhaps CW can be less strict when shaped provided the user has downloaded in off peak in the un-shaped portion.

No chance of Ferraris whatsoever. :(

Web Africa seems to manage it fine. I'll even take less unshaped gigs during daytime to avoid getting shaped by the 20th of each month. I've reverted to not scheduling downloads anymore because there is no point.

That's the IS policy, not WA. These accounts don't use IS and are subject to different pricing structures we've put in place, and the pricing models are insanely complex. :D

It's all about peak load capacity. ;)

:wtf:

Are you serious?

I want to save up my unshaped data for the time I actually need it (streaming twitch during WCS for example, which happens to occur at about 2PM Fridays, inside of the daytime window). I dont need unshaped all the time. From a business perspective, Paul/Shaun pay for capacity and not data. At night there is some extra capacity not being used - i.e. they are losing money. If I move my not so important downloads to that time period, I save them bandwidth during busy hours and help take up capacity at low peak.

If they zero-rate my data at that time, it is a win-win situation. I get my downloads and still have unshaped capacity for when I need it, and their network is better optimised.

Zero-rating changes pricing. I'll explain - it means you'll use more unshaped data in peak hours, meaning full line speed for nearly all subscribers, for longer durations in the month, meaning load in peak takes additional strain, meaning more capacity purchasing is required, meaning higher costs to us and to you.

Congrats on that prediction DJ...some powerful crystal balls in use your side I see. :p

LOL. Yup, don't want to say "I told you so" but I will in any case. :D

It was stupid on their part and rather dishonest - plain and simple.

I'm sorting this out today. We've moved to a fully integrated backend and the new signups fell within a period of change during this process so I need to manually do this. Will all go out today. The Ts and Cs are certainly on the site BTW - under the customer relationship agreement. Every signup requires confirmation of acceptance of them and a link to them.

As you state the terms and conditions are currently linked when you signup. There is no easy link on the website (for existing clients) though. Since these may change without notice I recommend adding a link to terms and conditions on the website (A small link in the footer or something like that).

To be honest, I'm not very familiar with the service myself. VPN is prioritised once shaped, but on condition that we recognise the VPN on the shaper. If we don't and something goes awry, you can contact us and we'll make the changes to recognise the service properly though.

Unfortunately, for Archeage I do :( without WTFast latency is all over the place.

It's sad to say this but this is one area CW have dropped the ball. When I first signed up packet loss was bad in League of Legends, then it seemed to get sorted out, and now it's back to being bad again.

Still plan to make a video demonstrating packet loss on CW compared to other ISPs for international gaming. Local gaming is 100%, but international is laggy and packets get dropped regularly.

My suggestion is to use another ISP (I've got a free 1 gig WA and 4 gig AH account) for gaming if you can dial out with multiple accounts.

We're not dodgy though - we'll alert you guys to changes to the Ts and Cs and will always offer proper notice of changes to take affect if they're material.

But yours is a good suggestion. I'll try to figure out where best to put them. Appreciate the feedback.
