Was trying to watch via Quickplay in xbmc and wasnt good at all. I know xbmc has issues with streaming so am not sure where the issue is. Through my browser, I have watched the whole game without and issue in hd.

We've tested similar things on our end with XBMC. It can be down to a lot of reasons, but thankfully none of them being our issues that we need to resolve.

I've been in touch with XBMC's developers but they blame the addons, the addon developers blame XBMC, and then XBMC blame the operating system or router configuration when it's thrown back their way. Had an incredibly snotty message from one of their German developers telling me their code is perfect and if we want to do better we should. :erm:

Little did he know that's already in our plans...

Further to this, we tested the Boks game this evening using multiple paid vendors and one free vendor. All experienced issues in XBMC such as random artifacts all over the screen, loss in picture and audio sync, and occasional buffering. Tested the same services via their web interface without issue at all other than the free stream which lost sync frequently. I honestly believe that XBMC has a sync issue with flash streams.

On the old details it did not work at all.
Most times it would not load, and when it did I got a max of 30kbps.

Due to the international issues. Similar issues shouldn't exist at all by the end of this month...

Drop a mail to support with a local and international tracert. We're currently developing a tool to do this for you automatically (as well as much more) but for now you'll have to do it manually. Also run a speedtest and send us the results. We'll investigate for you.

If you're having the same issues on both accounts then it's certainly not the ISP side that's the issue...

thanks for the help closed utorrent and it's stream perfectly. I think I need to do qos on my router or schedule torrents/ newserver for after hours

Please advise if the cw newserver works with the is account as it is giving me authentication issues but was working this morning on the cw account

Yup, torrents will whack your line.

The news server will work (for now) on the IS backbone. There is work on the news server today, so if it continues please let support know.

Streaming youtube (all be it at 240-360p) perfectly, while downloading NZBs at a restricted (by me in SABNZB) 60 kilobytes per second.

Probably not brilliant to hardcore hulu, netflix etc streamers but this is miles and miles better than Telkom Internet could ever ever manage.

So far, still a very happy customer.

Spoke too soon.

Youtube streaming is still fine, but NZB downloads have gone to crap. barely hitting 40 kilobyte per second (when having stopped the youtube stream) speeds using sunnyusenet.com server.

Yeah, what a lot of folk don't know is that even if your torrent client doesn't pull a lot of bandwidth, it opens up a heap of ports/connections on your router and saturates it with requests - often its the cheap consumer router with limited CPU/RAM that's to blame for the hold-up, not the line or ISP... Now if we all used business grade equipment (Cisco etc)...

Now if we all used business grade equipment (Cisco etc)...

Even the mid sized Cisco's battle. I run a Cisco 2811 and with my 10MB line dong torrents my CPU usage is pretty much straight up there. Its not the amount of ports/connections that kills it, but the high amount of NATs that the router needs to do and keep track off.

Nntp giving me 400 kps plus this morning on a 4mb line. And internet seeming better. Need to say goodbye to torrents now...

Yeah... natting per connection :)
Not just CPU but memory.
