sorry didn't really get enough sleep(tbh my spelling isn't great but it is readable :()

also i know its possible to stream properly with vpns all i meant is i don't see the point as there are DNS services at $5 a month that work just fine, hassle free....unless there's a problem with them i never noticed then please let me know i don't like feeding people incorrect information

yeah, just trying to put necuno here at ease. I am fairly confident that we won't have issues, and it seems we are in the same paranoid the NSA is watching us situation.

Because I use the vpn for other things than just streaming? Current one I'm using is 5 eur p/m (±72.2920 ZAR), allows 5 connections and multiple countries which is very useful if you need a bit of location obfuscation or at least some form of secure dns and browsing.

a DNS service is not going to help with privacy, which is why he essentially uses a vpn.

I'm not paranoid, just decided one day you don't need to know if I'm wowgirls or news24. Not really your problem what I surf or say on the web. Besides not using a vpn while connected to a public wifi is just stupid, one of the other reasons I have this.

i was just mentioning it in general, privacy is a different story all together and i completely agree with you :/ i was talking to more generalized users who thinks only way to hulu/netflix is VPN

perhaps paranoid was not the correct word, but yes, it is nobody's business what you do on the internet, I was just looking at it in an infosec perspective.

We've been quite open that we have no intention of a) knowing what you do, and b) punishing you

BUT if all of your traffic is via VPN and is picked up as irregular it may in fact flag it. I just don't know enough about your specific use-case to answer that, nor do I know the precise details of the algorithms to tell you exactly when you're going to be flagged.

It boils down to your experience. An ISP can build systems and processes to their heart's content with the best intentions, and someone is still adversely affected. No ISP will ever please absolutely everyone. The guy trying to download 2TB on a R200 account is in all likelihood going to complain that his internet experience is poor, while everyone else is perfectly happy. We can only do all we can to please as many people as possible. Our goals are to please the mybroadband community - in our opinion the most discerning internet user in SA - if we can do this, we can please just about everyone.

MyBroadband users in particular have incredibly high demands of an ISP given the current telecommunications environment, and many have done a good job in trying to accommodate this. Others have lied and connived their way into the market. We won't be the latter.

Don't worry about us snooping on you. We really don't care what flavour of midget porn our customers are in to.

The only time we care is when we're made aware by third parties that illegal activity has taken place on our network. And the only time we'll hand over any identifying information is with a properly served and valid court order. Paul being one of our directors helps our customers significantly on that aspect.

Very true. Unless you are a suit tailor or something, you won't ever be able to please anyone. But this all seems fine to me, I don't really download that much, but when I want that new Kali linux release, I want it NOW lol

I have as with AH to play fair, as I am on IS now:
1. NNTP via normal route: Pulled 9.8 gig today.
2. Browsing tunneled: god knows.
3. Streaming tunneled: god knows.
4. Steam normal route: god knows.
5. Odd 5x anime shows via tunnel: god knows.

Looking at my vpn readout:
Connected: 11h 27m 28s
Download: 3 GB

If you can't manage that then you'd need to close shop tbh: That is about 250 meg p/h for multi device, multi vpn.

that is very little usage over a vpn actually, depending on line speed, and over the amount of time, i am fairly sure the algorithm will not flag this.

Also, I am hoping that the vpn shaping will only be a factor based on the condition that your p2p || nntp services ARE shaped at that point.

Well you are ****ing retard if you go for maxed out line speed using a vpn 24.7 and making that system bad for us who actually want to use it for something else rather than warez.

I have 0% problems with CW, its been great looking past the issues you had. I mean nothing is perfect from the get go, but you have done what you can and gone beyond where you could. I'm just curious about the detection because it lingers on detection VS encryption.

I wasn't referring to warez, If I do a full package upgrade on my notebook running archAssault, which has a connection to a vpn whenever it is booted, the distro upgrade alone will be about 3 gb.

Yeah well... just downloading Wolfenstein TNO and Secret world (mmo) is close to a 100 gigs. Madness... At least I already have both :D
