I see support is helping you out here on this and it appears to be an authentication issue, so we should be able to resolve this for you quickly. Apologies about this.

Ok this has been bugging me for a bit now....how the hell are some of you able to stay up till 1AM to game? I mean don't get me wrong I do the same but that is reserved weekends for me and the odd hour of two during the week.

How are you not knackered by that time after work, home responsibilities and making time for the wife or kids? I feel I am missing valuable time management skills.....lol

I personally can't go to bed before 1am. if I go to bed lets say at 11pm I have a migrane the next day, the whole day guaranteed and am more tired etc... Anything more than 5 hours sleep and I am a 0 on a contract the next day.

With pingplotter I did a trace to google.com, my router was at 2ms and hop 2 at 300ms. After 5 minutes Hop 1 was 400ms and hop 2 500ms. Just now hop 1 was 1ms and hop 2 10ms. So it just goes to show, I have a crappy mweb fon router at work and it does that, you (anyone in general) can also have a crappy router. Just saying in general and not related to anything specific here. :)

This is the constant battle we have in providing support. Earlier in the thread a customer mentioned he cancelled and was mightily peeved with us because we asked him to run a pathping, which we prefer over a tracert. This wasn't a case of trying to pretend that we weren't having issues - it's actually a responsible manner in which to effectively rule out other potential problems.

It would be incredibly easy for me to tell support staff to just blame all slow speeds on our problems, but this would be incredibly irresponsible of us, as well as incredibly lazy. We could simply set that up as an automated response and tell our actual support staff to go home. We prefer to offer proper support. A previous customer got so upset about us doing this where we identified proper exchange congestion that he went on a bit of a crusade against us thereafter.

But really when we ask for diagnostic information, we're doing so because it's the right way to address problems; it helps us gather important information to better support customers; and it's in our opinion the better way to offer support. We may be experiencing issues, but that doesn't preclude a customer from experiencing other problems that we can potentially help with as well. We'll never know, and importantly you may never know unless we actually go through a procedure to identify the root-cause of whatever problems you're experiencing.

So... When do we get our IS accounts for this month? :) I would like to be able to do some gaming.

That's why I say, Billion single port modem, Microtik RB750 with a decent Q Tree setup, mangle rules, firewall and a wireless router without ADSL and DHCP disabled, it just works. I've been through all the major brand routers, and my current 2 wireless hotspots with DHCP disabled are Tenda's and they ALWAYS work. The problem with wifi routers are, they can't / don't handle the traffic all to well and sommer start to throttle everything out of the blue. But if they only need to give access to a wireless network and not worry about the other stuff they just work with no problems.

Agreed, on condition that you go out and do everyone's Microtik setups for us. :D

Relatively easy, as long as everyone buys the RB750 I just create a backup file of the finished and easily editable product and dropbox it with pdf instructions on how to add / modify / delete q trees. :D

If you can convince everyone to purchase the necessary equipment, and agree to support their setups, we'll throw you a 2% discount.

How's that for a deal?! :p

It's actually not so difficult! Even I managed with a bit of Googleing and a few resets back to factory settings, of the router :p

I read your thread(s) trying to get your setup working! :p
