What is the acceptable amount on 20mbps?

Don't download that much, just the odd steam game. Mainly gaming and browsing. Just want to check.

Account has been brilliant since we got the new details :)

Don't see it as usage limits, but an exercise to get out of the download everything mentality. Use as much as you would actually consume, don't download "because I pay for uncapped"

Last year I upgraded my sound system and also tried to get decent quality recordings. What really disappointed me was that a lot of the original recordings were not great quality (FLAC or not). I ripped my entire CD collection to FLAC and I discovered that a lot of the local CDs were not great quality. I downloaded some MP3s which were much better quality that my local FLACS (same tracks). I had always assumed that the files on a local CD were identical to the files on an imported CD of the same title.

To be honest I recently upgraded my audio equipment to Technics with Jamo speakers and could no longer stand Spotify and Mp3's. Even on my mobile device I have switched to FLAC (ridiculous I know)

Completely agree about CD"s, it really has turned into a hit and miss affair. Mind you so far lucky with the FLAC files I have. Currently rebuilding my 300GB of MP3's, not at all once mind you.

Blame Steve Jobs ....

and other bastards who have refused to allow acceptance of low fidelity sound ....

still having the odd wobble which leads me to believe Telkom still haven't rectified the exchange issue properly, but this, well all I can do is this :D:D:D

our last indication on Friday was that they got it back to the state of working (they were working at the exchange close to close of business) and we want there to be internets first. It is still on my list.

Thanks for the feedback on the speed to those that responded. Crystal Web, should I get in touch with support from your homepage about the difficulties I'm having with YouTube and streaming recently? Since everyone else seems to be having great speeds, could it be an exchange issue my end?

unfortunately we get stuck with all the bad sound quality cd's and DVD's in the world. even many of the Blu-rays don't has great sound. been fighting with the local companies about it. the picture quality of many DVD's and even Blu-rays simply don't match international standards. that's why I started importing all my stuff from overseas. and I'm enjoying great sound and picture quality. and there's quite often extra tracks or features missing on local sup par pressings. decided years ago to rather pay for quality download than the ordinary junk on the internets.

and I download the rest, although not from iTunes as I don't support apple.

downloads had normalized mostly... even single threated downloads average 411 - 417kbps.

thanks CW for bringing the internets back to us...

Paul, please send those Telkom minions to me so they can fix my exchange/interwebz when they are finished at Ol' Mean Bastid.

My gaming is suffering heavily since 1 Aug with latency of average 75ms to 90ms, dropping to 15ms and spiking to 125ms at times.

Please do get in touch with support - the guys on duty tomorrow morning will have a look and lets see what they can see (and unlike the bear climbing the mountain it shouldn't be the other side of the mountain), if you can email pathpings to both local and international traffic and at different times of the day.

Sad to hear about the poor audio quality of our Blu-Rays in SA. I have never in my life watched a Blu Ray or even have a player. Good to know not to waste my money on one

In the "olden days" when I bought vinyl, I always went for the imported versions, but when CDs came out I made the asumption that the overseas distrutor would hand the local distributor a cd, and the local distributor would just copy it, boy was I wrong. Besides the inferior quality, the local ones are even mixed differently.

huh? I doubt very much that any of the DVDs/blurays here are locally pressed unless you're buying counterfeit ones. Nor is there any reason to create a bad version for south africa...its all digital so its either a 1:1 copy or someone went through a lot of hassle to produce an inferior version.
