Maybe because there is nothing just yet..

That is a completely new beast in terms of data sets, and currently its not a potential money spinner for a company that hasn't launched yet so it would have been put on the back burner for now.

Apologies about the lack of information regarding this. We evaluated the data and the granularity was not up to scratch. We also moved all resources on to the more pressing matter of getting the network operating at full tilt instead. We are still going to pursue this, but for now the project has been shelved until we can a) evaluate the algorithm within the constraints of the measurement systems to ensure accurate data (it is currently accurate only on a macro-scale); and b) we have sufficient resources to dedicate to this project.
 
Unfortunately some customers may be informed over the coming days that their unshaped experience will be coming to an end. Unfortunately some customers are going as far as to download in excess of 100GB per day, and we can't sustain that. These few percentage of customers will be moved back to shaped uncapped accounts to preserve the quality of the unshaped network for all other customers.

...and I used under 10GB on an uncapped 10Mbps account ...in one month. And all I asked for was a small capped account :/

Oh well. Downloaders gonna download :D

Frikken pigs! Please tell me that I'm safe on unshaped, I haven't even used anything :(

Just would like to know something, are there times when we could download as much as we want to without putting to much strain on (like between 00:00 and 06:00)? There are quite a few things I would like to download but don't want too abuse it too much.

At the moment no - particularly with the unshaped testing being done - but will update as this evolves.

05:00... Ok can work with that... will modify schedules to suit when I get home just now..

but 100GB per day?!?! :wtf: what the hell is there to download volumes like that...

We're looking at this on an individual account basis. There's no standard peak and off-peak time internally yet. If you want get in touch by PM and I'll let you know what the status is for your account. :)

Nah, scrap the time you saw there.

Just continue as usual and don't change usage patterns please. And just be responsible - that's all we ask.

If we suggest a time-frame, we'll have terrible data to work with on that basis in terms of extrapolating expected usage and capacity to be honest.
 
Hmm, so out of curiosity.

If i were to get an account with Crystal Web (4Mbit uncapped most likely). Would it be unshaped, uncapped 4Mbit?
Also what is the rough monthly usage which you guys would allow on such an account?

Would the account work well for streaming stuff from Netflix and YouTube as well as online gaming with the occasional download here and there?

Our current customers are all on uncapped, unshaped for this month, and we're evaluating whether to introduce this as a standard product based on data we receive from this experiment.

For your needs our standard uncapped accounts work really well. Streaming is not shaped, gaming is working well now that our international issues have been resolved, and the occasional download is perfectly reasonable.

Fair enough... I haven't actually changed anything in terms of my day to day usage..... wouldn't dream of it to get you guys a decent data set... and I would think the data my account provides you should be relatively easy to extrapolate from given that its general browsing, a bit of video streaming and NNTP traffic mostly.... and any limitations on speed are only imposed on the NNTP traffic so that it doesn't impact my browsing and such... that and the fact that if I let it download full steam ahead all the time, I would never be able to watch everything it grabbed which would just be totally pointless, even though I'm a data-storage whore...
