[ GAMEPLAY ]
– Added one-on-one warmup arenas when playing Wingman mode on Vertigo and Train
– Added a new weapon parameter “inaccuracy jump apex”, set to 331.55 for the Deagle

[ UI ]
– Added ability to see crosshairs of observed players
– Added ability to copy crosshairs of other players (through the scoreboard).

One-one-one warmup arenas... how revolutionary. Your modders have done it back in the heyday, and other (some) FPS titles have been having it since whenever.

Crosshairs, lel.

Why the weapon parameter, didn't they change it to rebalance the Deagle, who needs it?

Come on, bring in Source 2 so that the game runs better.

How much more FPS could you possibly want?

As smooth as the game is it does have micro stuttering. It has recently been 'reduced' on NVidia hardware. It is an occasional experience. Source 2 natively supports more hardware, and it will make the game run better on older, or slower, hardware like non-gaming laptops. It also supports DX11 and Vulkan and will use all available CPU cores which will improve things like streaming and Steam's own integrations with the game.

With the rendering improvements, there may be more power-hungry graphic settings which I believe will be selective as it will largely depend on the map and only 'casual' player play at the highest graphics. Not too many people know it, but not all CS maps are built in Source, it is mostly the newer ones which are leveraging the Source toolkits. The two new maps, Anubis and Chlorine, are build in Source.

All I want is improved responsive input. In Dota 2 Source 2 largely reduced latencies. Then lastly the physics engine, having this they may tune the shooter mechanics to be more unique, and this will go along with the environment. I guess we will see the rocket drums go extinct.

Valve have a choice, either they make a new CS or they take CSGO into a new version. People won't be happy to lose their marketplace investments. I have to wonder sometimes how the CSGO 'real' economy compare to Eve Online's?

I don't care about graphical improvements, e-sports titles must be accessible.

I am a big fan of all things Vulkan, it's what I use for Siege and it's just better, higher highs, higher lows and higher average by a significant amount too.

The replays (without the extra live stream stuff ) are on the Quake Champions youtube channel - I watch occasionally. Toxjq and k1llsen are fun to watch but Rapha is overall too strong.

Some toxjq gameplay -

I love watching these players. That is a pure aim (and tracking). See how they aim, yes, it isn't the same models as other games, but when you down aim like that in CS you are likely to be second best in 1v1.

Talking about this and since we don't have a dedicated Quake Champions thread, the new modes have revived the title. It is going to grow more in the esports scene, pending on how much Bethesda is throwing at it.

To add, those maps in Quake, the map control is class. Not many games have that, around pickups.

EDIT:

If there is ever to be Olympics for esports, Quake pretty much takes it for the challenge.

DIG is getting on the ESL ONE road. They didn’t do well at Flashpoint, Cloud9 shut them out and then they were squashed by Gen. G, and they struggled with Orgless.

Thursday they are playing Heretics, on Friday they play NiP (/cough), then Fnatic on Tuesday, Dignitas on Wednesday and then ENCE on Friday.

What's up with some sort of vulnerability now where it's advised for people not to play any Source games online at all?

Both TF2 and CSGO's source code leaked. Basically it was maliciously done by parties who previously had access to the code. The person who came out with it said that the vulnerabilities may be used to compromise user accounts by taking control over remote computers etc. It is pretty much like the Intel vulnerabilities.

The person also then warned that no one should play these two games until Valve makes a public statement.

I guess we are really going Source 2 :p\

EDIT:

Oh, I see Valve already said that there is no reason to be alarmed. Typical Valve.

CS:GO and TF2 source code leaks, Valve says there’s no reason for alarm
Today, source code for both Team Fortress 2 and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has leaked to the public. Players have been afraid it will lead to a rash of new cheats and exploits – including serious security risks like remote code execution – but Valve says there’s no need to be worried.

“We have reviewed the leaked code and believe it to be a reposting of a limited CS:GO engine code depot released to partners in late 2017, and originally leaked in 2018,” a Valve representative tells us. “From this review, we have not found any reason for players to be alarmed or avoid the current builds (as always, playing on the official servers is recommended for greatest security). We will continue to investigate the situation and will update news outlets and players if we find anything to prove otherwise.

“In the meantime, if anyone has more information about the leak, the Valve security page describes how best to report that information.”

Popular TF2 community servers like Creators.TF and Red Sun suspended their operations earlier today pending details on the scope of the leaks. Some players have reported that malicious code is already live on TF2 servers, but none of those reports have yet been confirmed.

The odd thing about this leak is that it is previously available code which is leaked now. Just sounds like a motive to make Valorant more popular at the moment :whistling:

Many popular CS peeps on socials posted that servers and other Source-related game servers are compromised. How would they know?

I doubt that the public servers would be compromised, but the community servers hosting CS, TF2, Garry's Mod etc. could be an issue, but as always then the malicious parties should have access to these machines in any case. Either you engage in malicious activity with users on your own host or you need to breach a host to execute these vulnerabilities and you need to know the code and what to do with the code.

Valve has never been in a good place with security other than having 2FA on Steam. Those Steam APIs are easily abused and many have cried losing their inventories and accounts to scammers who have compromised their APIs mainly due to the user being incompetent with their enabled API.

Watching Nip, uhm sorry, DIG playing Heretics at the moment it is clear that DIG isn't CSGO ready anymore. They will struggle in the big leagues.

Still, tough competition and Heretics are a very good team. A bit disappointed, as they haven't revolutionised their game, and now with Asia catching up to the American and European teams it is going to be a tough time to have the old boys play the young big boys.

I see DIG have already converted their two other CSGO teams to Valorant teams.
