Tried the anti-cheat beta in casual a bit...can't say it's doing anything. Still lots of people with new accounts or bought ones (5 year coins with no other medals or badges) with bad game sense and movement but godlike aim. Meh.
Wait!! I am actually one of those with a 5 and 10 year coin without any other medals. :)
Bought the Counter-Strike bundle the moment when cs:source came out. Played around 625hrs source. Then life happened.
Fast forward 9 or so years, COVID-19, bad ankle injury, bored as F. Decided to give the old game a go again.
I wish I knew how many times I've been accused of hacking these past two months.

Rewind back to varsity, oh my goodness how many thousands of hours we played cs1.6 on varsity lan, how many students f*cked up their degrees due to cs!

One thing that stand out though is the different degree of toxicity. Back in the day we also threw a few Dutch cats around. But the way it's done today is really sad.
... and then being accused of hacking, omf. There are actually people out there that played Q3A for hours on end as well and can aim a little.
... but due to the amount of hackers I assume everyone is suspect when they play a little better than average.

Watched a couple of YouTube clips lately, even in the LE/LEM level it's vrot of hackers!

There are boosted accounts and then there are normal accounts, some hacks also allow inventory manipulation.

Toxicity is big anywhere, no matter what game you are playing. Aim positioning is a habit, some people can't break a bad habit. My own skill dropped tremendously due to inactiveness as I mostly play RPGs and adventure-type games nowadays which is a lot more time manageable. I am trying to get into CoD at the moment.

I would say there are many hackers in the upper echelon, LE/LEM are the top 15% IIRC, however, you do have players with incredible game sense and hearing which could be interpreted as hacks.

Hacks have evolved, the traditional aimbot and wallhacks are legacy, today you have slow-aim (which mimics mouse movement) and glow which halo is more representative to a normal player's reaction. Hacks are optimised, some players will only be highlighted when they can be heard and spray and spread are minimised. What is known as 'legit' hacks are incredibly hard to pick up in Overwatch or spectating mode.

As things currently stand, hacks are likely only to be abolished with cloud gaming, and even still then you will have players using Titan, ChornusMax, Brook, etc. or use them in combo with Xim.

Hey @Fulcrum29! Thanks for the detailed reply and opinion. Absolutely insane how things have changed!

Now I am going to say something that is probably the biggest cliche ever and words that every cheater use...

Why the **** do someone want to hack? Am I just old school? Isn't there any desire to actually push yourself to become better? I know I get a lot of flack for being too competitive but ffs, do you really feel better after a game knowing you haven't achieved ****?
Maybe that's the reason we live in a world full of pantsies....... says the guy sitting on his arse behind a keyboard!

I don't know, according to hackers who have been interviewed they use hacks to get better at the game.

Just check this 3kliksphilip vid, it is two years old already,

but these videos are all the same. Likewise with the many articles.

The current cancel culture, it has come to anti-cheats, there are big attempts at cancelling anti-cheats at the moment...

At the development side, creating hacks are a lucrative business.

Two nights ago I played CoD Warzone, got lasered in the end-game. A level 144 player, spectated by at least 8 players. Lasering everyone with his Bizon. Zero ****s Given. In that match alone he should have been reported by everyone spectating, and he/she is still playing.

Thanks, definitely going to watch that tonight.

I get that creating these hacks can make the developers a crapload of money.

There will always be hackers and it something that the gaming community must accept. Nobody would admit to cheating because that would label them within the gaming community. Hackers tend to be individuals or operate within cliques. It is the gaming publishers and developers who are responsible to minimise hacking and proactively combat hacking even when opposed by gaming communities (who are encouraged by cancel culture). Hacking isn’t the problem; it is the hacking culture which is the problem because it comes down to the inability at beating them which leaves you with the option, or choice, to take up cheats with them and I believe this is where we are heading.

Everyone is welcome to cheat in their single-player experiences, but by taking cheats online you negatively impacts everyone’s experience unless it is a private instance where cheating is allowed because then it isn’t cheating.

Generally, I don’t have an issue with cheats, but with the users who leverage cheats. Cheaters have created a skill ceiling, they have dumbed it down and I have a problem with that.

Anyhow, I like playing CS.

Watched the clip and read a few articles as well.

Regarding these Hack vs Hack servers they mention, I wonder why Valve doesn't host a few of these servers.

None-the-less, like you've said, I still love this game and won't let cheaters nor being accused of cheating stop me from playing and enjoying the game.

No one speaking about the trusted mode update that isn't only beta anymore?

It doesn't really matter, it is already bypassed. Those with updated cheats shouldn't have an issue.

Valve did publish it know in their knowledge base:

CS:GO - Trusted Launch and Incompatible Files
What is Trusted mode?
Trusted mode in CS:GO blocks incompatible third-party files from interacting with the game and is enabled by default for all CS:GO players.

Why do incompatible files need to be removed to matchmake?
Incompatible files must be removed to ensure a fair game for all players. Any time we cannot verify files interacting with CS:GO's game process you will be asked to restart the game in Trusted Mode.

I was told I have incompatible files. How do I launch in Trusted mode?
You may resolve this error by following the prompts in-game and clicking 'RESTART TRUSTED'. This will restart CS:GO in Trusted mode and block any incompatible files from interacting with the game.

If any third party software is required to play a non-official game mode, you will need to start CS:GO in insecure mode by adding "-insecure" as a launch option.

Note: when launching CS:GO in insecure mode you will not be able to play on VAC-secured servers

The software I want to use is not a cheat. How can I play CS:GO with it?
Regardless of the software you are attempting to run alongside CS:GO, if it is being marked as incompatible you will not be able to run it alongside the game in Trusted mode.

If you would like to play CS:GO using incompatible third party software you may launch the game with the launch option "-untrusted".

Note: playing CS:GO in Untrusted mode may negatively impact your trust score and affect the quality of your matches.

Can you tell me which files are being marked as incompatible?
No. For a number of reasons we do not disclose the files being marked as incompatible. Regardless of the files being marked as incompatible, you can resolve the issue by restarting CS:GO in Trusted mode.

What happens if I start incompatible software after the game has launched in Trusted mode?
If you start incompatible software after the game has launched in Trusted mode you may be disconnected from your match until you re-launch in Trusted mode.

Like other Competitive cooldowns, any cooldowns received for this reason cannot be removed from your account.

Check the last note, now they are as intrusive as EAC, PunkBuster, etc. ;)

Just as a notice. NVidia and AMD both have a bad habit to release unsigned drivers, especially those in a beta branch. You won't be able to launch the game with an unsigned driver.

It is needed, it is easy to sign drivers. A method is below:

however, most casual users don't know schit about certs. Those who run hacks disguised as drivers, GLHF. Don't bitch when you are banned. You get people who 'plug' in their devices once the game is already launched, and this should cancel them out, but obviously those who created the hack will resolve this at some point.

PS. Also don't bitch about your incompatible AV

OBS doesn't work in trusted mode lol.

When Denovo AC was still active on Doom Eternal, not any service app worked. People complained a lot about Action! not working. AC didn't last long on DE, whether it was to be patched nobody will know.

When OBS doesn't work, neither will Streamlabs.

OBS most likely have something unsigned.

The current work around is to use screen capture and set CSGO to borderless or windowed.
